The Cheerleader
"I'm hanging up the gloves" I said this to my girl several weeks ago. I'm done.
I'm 40 and I am tired of doing things a young man does. I don't want to fight anymore, physically or verbally. I had an extremely hard upbringing and 20s but now I can feel the bear inside starting to settle. I don't want to be that guy anymore that steps in to a place and people say "Don't **** with him". I want to be the guy that you invite to family functions, when you have parties, or looking for someone to have fun with without any second thoughts.
I have nothing left to prove. I know how to fight, I know how to argue. I know the words to use to get under someone's skin and to piss them off. But the example that was set for me by my parents isn't the one I want to set for my kids. Jr knows this but unfortunately also knows "Big Mike" and is attracted to that. He asks me questions all the time about fighting or how to stare at someone and convey that you aren't kidding with your eyes. Just things that remind me of how I used to do the same thing with my dad at his age. But instead of trying to discourage him I am going to show him how but explain that he should look to all other venues for solutions before resorting to violence or anger.
With Drogo I am hoping I will be able to just show him by being there already.
