Welcome To Washington Desean Jackson!

The Offense not only looks good on paper but also on Madden, lol.

The more I read the more I like this signing. There are a lot of articles out there about how this will blow up in our face or another dumb move by Snyder. All these reinforce the fact it must be good. If we pissed off the media I am glad.

I think it's far more likely to come back to haunt the Iggles and Kelly.

It sounds like Desean will be wearing number 11 this year.

Aldrick Robinson, who was 11, just tweeted out that he'll be switching to number 15 this season.

Remember the days when wide receivers wore numbers like 80,82,83,87,88.......??

Ahhh memories.........

I learned something new the other day. Everyone can file it away in their completely useless trivia memory. And it may correlate to RG3 and Jackson. (Great Segway)

In professional soccer globally, the best player on a team will almost always wear the number 10.

And unlike in our US football, soccer franchises never retire the numbers of their best players. Including Pele, who you guessed it, wore the number 10.

I think the last update I heard was that it's actually 4 years at 8 mill/year, the rest as Mike shared.

The 4th year is voidable by either party and is expected to be executed. It was added only to ration out the cap costs.

So I guess we'll now refer to Robinson as AR15. :moon:

Thanks guys couldn't locate the #'s of the contract...have serious connectivity issues tonight.

Well, I welcome the new Redskins addition and hope my brother's enthusiasm will wear off on me when I see DeSean behaving himself and lighting up the field this fall. Please Lord.

I have to admit it is nice to see Philthy fans going ape over this. :)

And in the past, the goalie would always wear number one.

Up to the 80's, when pretty much everyone played 4-4-2, teams only had 11 shirts. If you were selected to play right midfield, you'd get the number 7. If someone else from the squad was selected to play right midfield the next week, he'd wear it. None of this #43 as the back up left back nonsense.

1- Goalkeeper
2- Right back
3- Left back
4- Central midfield (the defensive minded one)
5- Centre back (the big lump)
6- Centre back (the slightly more cultured one)
7- Right midfield
8- Central midfield (the attack minded one)
9- Striker (the smaller, more mobile one)
10- Striker (the target man, ariel threat)
11- Left midfield

Great days

eh...I'm happy!

I was wary of the gang "stuff", but there have been enough solid people behind all of this that I'm comfortable.

This is the one substantive FA move I was looking for (safety or wideout) - it's a difference maker that is smart.

Turns the draft from an immediate need problem space to a longer-term, build fr the future dynamic. sweet!

My guess for the draft: I'd go premier CB. Barring that more for the d-line. Find your o-line guys in the 3rd and 4th rnds.

We've been drafting O lineman in later rounds for years. It's what's gotten us here. Use some day 1 picks on the OL got once!

per my comments on 790 The Ticket (LeBatard & Miamuh)

They had Marcellus Wiley on debunking the whole "gang" thing. Great interview. Also, since Wiley has relationships with both parties, he's a good reference for what may have really gone down since neither side is talking.

Wiley's take was that it's more of an old guard vs. new guard situation. That Kelly needs the vets to buy into the system, dietary changes, lifestyle & workout changes, etc. And that Jax wasn't buying in, but still performing. So DeSean had to go in order to keep Kelly's system alive.

Now my logical addition to that the Iggles would try to survive the cut as economcially as possible, and perhaps floating some "issues" could get them out of honoring the contract, or at least get a discount from the League, citing "detremental" or whatever. Doesnt' seem like that is going to float.

Anyway - good insight.
