Random Commanders Thoughts

exactly! and that's why I posted how I look at it. I'm not pulling any punches. I'm expressing precisely how I see it. if others want to wear a different set of sunglasses that is their prerogative! I don't get the logic of adopting a position that has no out Boone. the wording might be off, but that is the core of the idea. it strikes me as irrational.

we all know Snyder has serious flaws. how does that change the current situation? again, what I'm investigating is an idea structure that leaves no room for change. I don't understand it. I have a hard time with holding directly conflicting ideas: wanting to win but holding that winning is a non-starter as long as Snyder stalks the hallways in Ashburn.

Of course there's room for change amongst the pessimists. It's called seeing actual results.

Gee thanks! I'm probably sterile now. lol
C'mon man. You know you want it.

When you have a meddlesome owner, why is it difficult to believe the soap opera won't stop?

“Yeah, I’m bitter,” Pardee said in an instant after insisting he wasn’t. “I think he (owner Jack Kent Cooke) made a big mistake. But it’s his ball. He can play with it the way he wants to. It was a difference of opinion. Now I can run my farm the way I want to….

“There’s one thing I certainly agree with Mr. Cooke on, a saying he used that I’d never heard before, that a fish stinks from the head. Not the tail or the body but the head. I think Mr. (Edward Bennett) Williams had a very successful run at running the Redskins.Mr. Cooke’s has just started. We’ll see. It’s gonna take one, two, three, four years and we’ll see how that goes.”

Later, Pardee said: “We’ll wait a couple of years and see how the fish smells.”
Maybe because there has always been a soap opera around the Redskins?

The Gibbs coaching search

That's a great find D44. I remember all that shit. Winning hides a lot of warts.

Not sure, Henry. But I already showered so I'm not looking any more.

NFL media people said the same thing after Jones fired Landry after the 1988 season.

Jack Pardee was a lot like Shanahan. Stubborn, refused to recognize his record dictated some changes were in order.

As with Shanny's moves in Year 1 for McNabb and Jammal Brown as well as Atogwe, Pardee insisted that Beathard trade the #1 pick for 35 year old DE Coy Bacon and 33 year old cornerback Lemar Parrish.

These guys had a good year in 1979 and then both fell off a cliff.

Why is it when coaches come to an aging team that is no longer elite their first answer is usually to double down with more older vets?

I just came up with a great idea for the cowboys blognostication i had to write. Much better than that poor excuse of avoiding being super negative that I actually posted.

Too bad it's like 4 weeks too late. :\

Well, that seems to set the stage for revoking the trademark, which was the Anti-Redskins-Name people's last shot at this whole thing.

Question is whether or not Snyder will use that to go through a name change...

I know he speaks grandly about his passion for the team and his fandom, and that supporters of the team put a lot of faith in that, but I see Snyder as a person focused on money and losing a trademark will be the ultimate test of his passion for the team vs his passion for making money.

I firmly believe that the only thing holding together the fan base, at this point, is the history of the team. Losing the name will leave the Snyder-led incompetence of the last 14 years and not much else for some people, which I imagine will cause them to go from rabid-redskins-fan to casual follower of the Washington football team. The question is... how many will it do that to?

And if we change the colors who's going to be the first to register (Color X Initial)(Color Y Initial)obsession.com? ;)

If they lose the trademark, there is zero chance Snyder keeps the name.

1) He'll lose way too much money, and
2) The league won't let that happen, so there will be some backdoor arm twisting and the name will change.

This is the beginning of the end of the name Redskins, friends.

laughable. this is Obama/Liberalism at its worst. "you don't get a choice people...just like with the IRS...we're going to tell you".

whole generations are in the process of growing up and not knowing their freedoms and privacy are being seriously eroded.

SUCKERS!!!!!!
