Random Commanders Thoughts

 As a fan base, we can be some whiny bitches! The only one not whining around here is the one who attended the game yesterday. Makes me wish I had gone; but I'm a fair weather fan, so...

Anyway, fickle bunch we have here. Merry Christmas everyone! I think I might take the trip to the Meadowlands next week and scratch off another opposing team's stadium from my bucket list. Anyone want to go?

Okay I have only been home from the game a few hours.. I'm not whining. And I was there. And yes, to be honest, there were more Redskin fans there than I honestly expected to be there with our record and the fact it is the weekend before Christmas. And loud? Absolutely (of course, the Boyzz fans who were screaming when they were on offense didn't hurt).

Yes it was disappointing, but I saw no one around me leaving that game early. And several Cowboy fans around me were pretty decent... in fact several of them said "we won't be happy unless we are leading by 40 points in the third quarter"... so they were not as confident as one may expect.

If we had a decent ST coach, and team for that matter, the outcome of this game WOULD have been different. That punt return by a new returner for Dallas on our first punt could easily have changed the game.. if we had managed to COVER and not allow the return to go as far. I'm not saying one play makes a game... but who knows what would have happened... our defense at that point even that early in the game wasn't playing that badly.

In any event, I look forward to spending our last game with you guys in chat on Sunday when we play the Giants. I honestly did miss you guys believe it or not, though I'm glad I went to the game. Despite the loss, it was exciting and it was interesting to see the almost "relief" by the Cowboy fans who were scared to death when the Cowboys were 4th and 10 and had to have the TD. Some of their reaction wasn't so much being thrilled at winning as it was relief ... I'm convinced.

I did get to see London's introduction. He definitely got the response from the fans I would expect.

Hope everyone has a great holiday and see you on Sunday in chat.

HTTR!

So, does anyone here actually WANT Shanahan to return next year ?

Me.

But I think I'm pretty much on my own there.
Ryman, did you hack tshile's account?

As I have previously stated...

I did not want Shanny from the start.
I still don't think he will be the guy to take us back to a Super Bowl.

But, allowing him to finish his 5yr contract, and then reevaluate his future here, is probably in the best "long term" interests of the team, and the development of our franchise QB, RGIII. If he doesn't make the necessary moves to turn things around, he will have cooked his own goose. With no one to point to but the man in the mirror.

I love Griffin and Cousins both. If we have to lose, I'd rather it be with guys like this than some of the other NFL QBs out there.

One thing I won't miss is Shanahan standing up there for 16 weeks and talk about 'watching the film' to learn and improve while his team accumulated penalties like pennies in a piggy bank and performed special teams at a consistent level of futility not seen since the 0-14 Bucs in 1976.

Damn. I had good money you were gonna go with your mancrush if forced into a Sophie's Choice situation.

Xbox? That might be the problem. How about new cars?

When they start actually ****ing BLOCKING for him - THEN they get a new car :) Sound fair to you?

I was thinking the opposite...xbox seems generous! I'd give them socks after the way they blocked this season....

I hear the line chipped in to get Robert 4 packs of these. That way, weather he wets himself, or get the piss knocked out of him behind the line, he can change his draws after each quarter.

When does Mike Shanahan get fired?

Sunday night after the game?
Monday morning?
Early in the week, or is it a longer process than that?

I think the answer will tell us quite a bit about what has been going on over the past few months and what hasn't.

I also think it'll tell us everything we need to know about the future.

If he's getting canned, I bet it happens quickly.

How?

I believe what will tell us all we need to know about the future is how the replacement is handled. Does Snyder hire a coach? Or does he hire a GM to build the team?

The team needs to be rebuilt. We have great roofing supplies, nice windows, a decent heat pump, solid fixtures, and appliances. What the team is in desperate need of is a solid foundation to put these materials in.

It would be hilarious if Shanahan had to buy his own ticket home from New York.

It'd be hilarious if Snyder told Bruce: Tell Mike to come up here so we can talk. Bruce: he's not on the plane Dan.....
