I just don't get that...no wonder he wanted Haslett the pushover to coach his D, because he knew he could control him. Ugh.

Shanny is the ultimate control freak.

If I was to fancy a guess, it would be that he thought being too aggressive, given our continued wasteland at the safety position, might get them behind in too many games, and put too much pressure on Robert.

Now, if he is taking the chains off, it's clearly because at this point, we have nothing to lose.

Press man, and at least one extra guy blitzing, on every...freakin...play.

Well, if we indeed observe a change in the defensive approach in the direction of a more aggresive blitzing attack that will lend some credibility to the report.

biggest dif, IMO, is lack of push from the d-line…especially up the middle. d-line is also not helping LBs out much - looks like LBs are getting blocked a lot by releasing o-linemen.

The problem with Shanahan in Denver at the end was his horrible defenses. Questionable defensive coaching and poor personnel moves to bring in Darryl Gardener, and the entire Cleveland Browns defensive line.

Here it's a bit of the same thing. Shanahan came back to coaching and was determined to run a 3-4 in Washington before he even looked at the talent.
