Random Commanders Thoughts

I am not taking the Vikings lightly. They played well against Dallas and Ponder did move the ball. That said Peterson is still their bread and butter and the Redskins strength on defense is defending the run. So, I think we have some advantages here.

On offense, Griffin should be able to throw on the Vikings defense. Reed should be a key performer again in this game vs. the Minnesota linebackers.

You know the talking heads are gonna blow the Merriweather comments sky ****ing high this week. Especially facing Adrian Peterson's new and improved knee.

Anyone wanna bet the first 5 "journalists" ask coach if BM will go for a low hit on AP? That's if Mara's fluff girl Goodell doesn't suspend him first.

Why can't we have Andre Johnson :(

To be fair, these are his first TDs all season...he hasn't done a bunch of damage until this game really. I know, he's my fantasy WR....but hey, this game he's gonna be worth close to 50, so wheeeeee

I think we're in good shape against the Queens. Not a guaranteed win by any stretch, but SD was being picked as a darkhorse AFC team and we crushed them statistically. Limit AD to +/-85 yards and we should win this one.

Dallas is bad and they beat the Vikings.

I know they're leading our division but Dallas is bad. When you look at all the teams, this is what I see:

Eagles haven't beaten anyone of note. Congrats - you can run up the score on a bad team. They can't even decide who their QB is. Their coach's system that's suppose to produce more plays has produced fewer (though it doesn't count yesterday's game) than this point last year.

Giants are out of it. They just aren't any good. I don't know what happened, but they're not anyone to worry about. We have to worry about ourselves first.

Dallas has most of their parts - they lost a few to injury, but I don't think they're getting them back any time soon. They're still losing. Their problems are cultural and lockerroom related. Dez Bryant is a press conference of saying Romo sucks away from literally being exactly like TO. We all know how those things go. We're 1 game behind them (they still haven't had their bye) and we play them 1 more time. Again - we need to worry about ourselves.

Our problem is that our QB has been playing awful. If he gets his act together we're back to being competitive against anyone. A win this week bought us time. If we can beat the vikings we have 11 days between them and our next game - almost like a 2nd bye. Our season isn't over - if Griffin gets his **** together this can easily be turned around.

We've played the hard part of our schedule and we came our 3-5. The rest of this is a cake minus two games. Here's everyone's upcoming schedule...

WSH - @minn, @phi, SF, NY, KC, @atl, dallas, @ny
Phi- @gb, wsh, arz, det, @min, chi, @dallas
NY: oak, gb, dallas, @wsh, @sd, seattle, det, wsh
Dallas: @NO, @NY, oak, @chi, GB, @wsh, Phi

This is 100% doable. The division leader has the wrost schedule ahead of them out of all of us. KC isn't all it's cracked up to be (look at who they've played) and the Eagles are awful - they'll be lucky to win 2 the rest of the season.

I love how a simple win to put us @ 3-5 makes people forget how bad a team we are. Watching other teams push their opponents around, dropping rainbow passes in stride for TDs, forcing missed tackles, making tackles, return kicks/punts for big gains, MAKING field goals, etc. makes me jealous ev ery Sunday. We squeaked by the team that Nick Foles dropped 7 TDs on yesterday. SEVEN. And when we played them we played against the worst backup QB the league has seen since Rex Grossman.

Slow your roll people. Not worried about AP? KC isn't much? Dude.... we suck but we won yesterday against an OK team. I'll celebrate THAT without getting ahead of myself.

I'm scared to death of what AP will do to this defense. He got back on track against Dallas, that's for sure.

Kansas City...meh. Their defense is really strong, but I'm still not sold on them. They've played some garbage teams. Alex Smith is terrible, he checks down every time. Every. Single. Time. This will be the game that gets Haslett an extension.

Jeez, buzz killington. How about YOU let people enjoy the win and being a fan for at least 24 hours?!

Enjoying the win.. Why yes I am - thanks for your concern. Getting ahead of myself and bad mouthing teams and players who are clearly good? Nope, sorry I'm not that guy.

Has there been a team we've faced that HASN'T ran no-huddle on or D yet? Just seems like errrrbody has but maybe it's me idk.

We're 3-5. Let me have hope for a few days between one of our few wins before the next game. I'm tired of being angry. I don't think it's too much to ask. :)

The only teams with winning records that they've played are the eagles and cowboys...

Oh it's not one simple win. It's going 3-2 over our past five games, with one of our losses being against Denver in Denver, a team that crushed every team in our division. The other was against the Cowboys in Dallas. We only have two more games that tough on our schedule (KC and SF), and they are both at home.

This team has improved since it opened with three straight losses. It's improved since it squeaked by Oakland. It's not perfect. Our defense is on and off. Our special teams are terrible. Griffin is still hot and cold.

But, by God, we can run the ball. Oh yes. We can run it. We can hang our hat on that.

We have a QB that is capable of absolutely brilliant play. Who has been improving in fits and starts all season long. We have a TE nobody can cover.

We do do some things well. And we do enough well to beat good teams. The Chargers and the Bears are not scrub teams. Both of them walked into FedEx field with winning records. The Eagles just blew their entire wad on the Raiders. Nick Foles wil never play that well again. That game tells us nothing about Oakland. Their defense doesn't usually suck. We scored more points against them than Andrew Luck and the Colts and Phillip Rivers and the Chargers.

After we beat the Bears I assumed we'd lose to the Broncos, but this Charger game I had circled on the calendar. This was the one we had to have. This was the one that would tell us if we still had a chance to do something this season, with two very winnable games coming up. If we somehow get ourselves to 5-5 ... Make no mistake, we're in the mix. And our schedule is very favorable.

I'm not raining on your parade, I'm celebrating too today but to just throw aside our problems and our rivals success is ignorant. So you rainbow & puppy police go right ahead... bash those of us who don't have the blinders on this morning, its cool I'm getting used to it.

The eagle suck and so do the Cowboys.

Look at KC's schedule. Who the hell am I supposed to be impressed with?
NFL Team Schedule - ESPN

I'm way more concerned about SF than anyone else on our schedule.

I feel you should respect any team with more than 3 wins in week #9. KC is 9-0. If you want to talk **** about a 9-0 team when your team has 3 wins that's cool.

Oh, I didn't realize my ability to evaluate an NFL team's players and schedule was tied to the Redskins' ability to win a game. So I guess the KC fans are the smartest football fans in the America?

At least it isn't the steelers fans anymore, they were obnoxious when they were the smartest.

Good Grief.

Sorry, please continue your 'the sky is falling' stuff, we certainly haven't had enough of that lately.

What's wrong with puppies? Do you hate puppies, sir?
