Random Commanders Thoughts

It's a good group of people in here. No one is happy with the performance of this team and they are four or five plays away from being 0-7. The only advice yours truly can offer is to take some time this week to enjoy other things whether it is a hobby, a project at home, or some extra time with friends and/or family.

Love you all. Hail.

yeah and were also 4 or 5 plays away from being 4-3 right now.. It's October.. it's football season, it is my hobby this time a year. As painful as it might be it's still what I look forward to every year. It's bringing a large group of us together next weekend. Some of the strongest bonds I have in my life are due to this football team.... thanks for the advice but I'm good right where I'm at bud.

Spurrier broke me of the post game angst and hand wringing. It sucked but in a way I'm grateful, too bad some of you couldn't have had the same experience. I get upset for about 5 minutes after a loss now and then it's on to better more important things, like ANYTHING in real life. Oh and it doesn't make those wins any less enjoyable, it's just a force fed case of having some perspective and just not allowing a stupid game I have zero control over to upset me. If my family has to walk on eggshells at all it's time for some introspective change. One day the younger crowd that gnashes teeth etc will be there too.

For me it was the Zorn Era. After that hot mess I stopped trying to solve the teams problems from my seat here in the back and just watch the games. I enjoy the wins, but don't lose sleep over the losses, dont pay much attention to the offseason, don't really follow the rest of the league or work out fantastical playoff scenerios. Just enjoy the wins when they happen and leave it at that.

As soon as I drop my season tickets I'll be able to join you guys.

My anger is that it's still October and I'm looking at paying quite a bit to attend meaningless games. It's getting old. Fast.

I'm a season ticket holder too. Try adding a six hour drive after those losses to the experience, it's VERY pleasant lemme tell ya. The "I'm wasting money" aspect has never played any part in it for me though. I accepted long ago that if I wanted to enjoy things with this team I was going to have to have good perspective about why I was really going to games. It's not for the viewing quality. I'm lower level, pretty good seats but it still can't touch the view, comfort or convenience of watching it on my big screen in my Redskins room 10 feet from a bathroom and another 10 from the kitchen. I go for the fan experience and sharing the love with fellow Skins fans. Coming from Ohio where there are very few Skins fans accentuates it a lot and I really get a ton out of that camaraderie. If we win it's just gravy. Ya gotta stop thinking about the money spent because if you REALLY break it down the absurd money can never be justified rationally. It's pure shameless fun and for me one of my few escapes even when the Skins suck.

This is the kind of amazing fan this team has...
I run a little website for fans with some great buddies of mine, but that's nothing compared to this kind of fandom.

Yeah, I read about your drive in another thread. It still amazes me. I couldn't do it.

It's not about the money per se - I can afford it, otherwise I wouldn't do it. Last year was worth it - but of the 7 years I've been going to games as a season ticket holder that's the only year that was 'worth it' purely from a gameplay perspective (I have fun tailgating no matter what.)

I can handle losing. Low quality football is a bit harder to justify.

I hear ya. Don't get me wrong wining would make those trips a LOT better but the win/loss aspect is irrelevant to me when justifying the expense, otherwise I'd be pulling out what little hair I have left, check that - I'd be completely plucked by now.

I sincerely commend your long-distance loyalty.

Although, it probably helps to motivate yourself, when you consider that living in Columbus, OH, the only alternative to the Redskins' conundrum, would be to become a Browns' fan :) :p

With Brandon Meriweather back from suspension, the #Redskins have again waived Jordan Pugh, per someone with knowledge of the matter.

Zac Boyer ‏@ZacBoyer
Pugh was waived on Oct. 15 and re-signed on Oct. 22 with Meriweather suspended. He played 10 snaps and had a tackle and an INT on Sunday.

The #Redskins have not traded Fred Davis by the league's deadline today, according to a person familiar with the tight end's status.

In other words 'No other NFL team was stupid enough to offer the Redskins a damn thing for Sleepy Davis'

At this point isn't it best to cut him and bring in someone that wants to be here?

At this point, I just want someone who will contribute anything. Has Sleepy even been out on ST at all?

That would make total sense. If the last few games are any indication, he won't be playing any more this year, and surely won't be back next year. And we really don't need 4 Tight Ends, especially with a permanently inactive one.

funny how Shanny and Allen got questioned about drafting Reed... and it looks like 2/3 of the TE staff BEFORE that draft, wont be here next year.

On the #Redskins depth chart, Fred Davis is listed under “other”.
