Nope, he's a younger version of Garcon. He caught 10 passed for 146 yards and a TD yesterday.

He's 6'3, and played at Baylor with RG3.

I understand we have other areas of need, but when someone like this becomes available, roster spots need to open up.

It's probably useless though. San Francisco is rumored to be offering next year's first round pick for him.
 
Yeah I fell ya McD but I do not feel Griffin is being protected well enough to invest in anything on offense besides more protection for him. The one time he had protection yesterday similar to his counterpart on the lions, stafford, he threw a dart to Robinson. The one time I thought wow, he actually had time to setup, read and throw.

Another receiver is a not the primary need here IMO. Even if....What in the world do we have that you would be comfortable giving up? We don't have any ammunition for that kind of move.

It would have to be a lot. Otherwise San Fran will just get him.

All we could offer would be someone like Orakpo, straight up.

Or a combination of next year's second, and someone else.

Yeah, it would suck. But to have two Garcons on the field for every snap would give us one of the top receiving corps in the league--similiar to Atlanta. RG3 would love that.

We do have the ability to replace someone like Orakpo in free agency next season. We should also have an additional $6 million for releasing Joshua Morgan.

What we won't have is the ability to find a receiver like Gordon in the second round of next year's draft.
 
Glance at this for a second. The kid is about to be a superstar. I would kill to get this kid for someone like Orakpo and what will be his huge salary:

And while the following comparison is blasphemous, this kid looks like Randy Moss in his prime, with the toughness of Pierre Garcon. He can fly, but he's an animal too. It's so hard to find that.

Orakpo? Haha. Nobody is gonna value him as high as Redskin fans. Like I said... I feel ya, but we don't have the ammunition other teams have

Schefter now reporting that "multiple" teams are making offers for Josh Gordon.

Orakpo and a third if necessary. Get it done Shanny, and guarantee us the best WRs in the Beast for the next 5 seasons.
 
Josh Gordon is a luxury at this point. If we felt close to winning the SB, then sure, let's roll the dice. I don't feel close to winning the SB right now, anyone else?
 
Offensive line is not only average but is aging.

Chester and Montgomery are both 30. Lichtensteiger and Polumbus are 28/29.

Only Williams at 26 is a building block.

And if these guys are merely average in their primes imagine what their 30's is going to look like.
 
I'm pretty happy with Robert's progress. He's still a mobile quarterback, he's taken a few hard shots and gotten back up. He's getting better at avoiding those shots and making some big time throws under harsh and difficult conditions. He's been accountable, he's been humbled and he's getting better. Hopefully we will see it fire on all cylinders at one point or another. Our receiver's are not coming through in the clutch. Especially Hankerson and Robinson... Defense? I got nothing...
 
Saw this on twitter and it made me smile a little bit:

When he retired, Gary Clark had 699 catches and 65 TDs. Right now, Santana Moss has 695 catches and 65 TDs.

And that's a good thing.

Everyone complained about Joe Gibbs saying alot but saying nothing at the same time. Zorn comes along and basically tells you everything and everybody complained about that.

I'm all for the "don't tell 'em anything" approach. Because in the end, there are just some things that are better left behind closed doors.

Yeah, but the thought here is while Griffin can get better week to week because of innate talent, the secondary is basically what you are going to see going forward, and that is a scary proposition.

There is no reason Amerson & Rambo can't get better, and for that matter, Meriweather may get better also (he is not playing well, possibly due to the same post-ACL rust Griffin is experiencing). Don't forget we're getting Jenkins back as well; reports were he was having a good camp. If he can get even close to 2011 pre-injury form, it will help out the secondary immensely due to the increase in pass-rush.
 
It looks more and more that Rak will never be more than a decent OLB. We've been waiting for "another move" to add to his "straight at you" speed rush, since we drafted him. he has missed significant playing time the passed two years, and his first year was in a different system. But if someone were to make a decent offer before the trade deadline, we should consider it.

Ideally, he'll catch fire and we'll all be hoping we sign him long term. But the evidence suggesting such a scenario seems thin right about now.

No idea if this is true: listening to SPorts Junkies this morning and they were playing excerpts from Smoot's comments yesterday in which he basically stated that Shanny should be gone after the season ends. As part of the discussion someone passed that there are people who claim to have Redskins sources who pass that Griff had told the coaches he wants to be a Manning-like drop back/pocket passer. no idea if this is true - but, if so, it certainly has big implications for the coaching staff, scheme, etc.
