Random Commanders Thoughts

I think BB learned his lesson from Mr Bag 'O Donuts.
Plus Davis has very little trade value.
Didn't he test the market as a free agent, and come back empty ?
If he couldn't find a team as a free agent, how could we get something decent in a trade for him ?
He sure didn't come back purely because of loyalty to the Skins.
If I was any other team, I surely wouldn't pay anything higher than a 5th for a guy who just came off an injury that could have ended his career, and was suspended the year prior.
Paulsen is a workhouse. But so is Reed Doughty. And like Doughty, Paulsen has a "cap" on his talent potential

Any local news on the team lately, health wise?

And is this the year LaRib takes the G spot from Lichtenshmeckle?

If BB can give us a fifth for old goo butt, then he can give us a third for Sleepy Davis or possibly a second.

Paulsen is a workhorse and he would be missed. Need to keep him.

He's gotta have some good lineman on that roster, on O & D. Sleepy for Wilfork straight up.

I like lichtenstiger :)

Carriker is not looking good. Otherwise the news I've heard is good.

Yeah I like both players really. The d-line is night and day better when Carriker is in there, very solid player.

Appreciate any tidbits thrown out for the geographically challenged.

Just for TC, or for the opener too ? Or for the season in general ?

From what I have read, it wouldn't be surprising if he missed the season. Not saying that is what has been said, but from what I saw...that was inferred.

The only thing definitive I have seen says he will open training camp on the PUP list.

"@TarikCSN: Kirk Cousins told NFL Network that he thinks Robert Griffin III will be "ready to go Week 1": http://t.co/8LhF0vzYKT #RedskinsTalk"

“I think he’ll be ready to go come Week 1.”

“Robert looked awesome, and I’m not just saying that,” Cousins told NFL Network during an interview on 'NFL AM’. “Obviously he is a bit of freak in terms of his athleticism but he’s healed very quickly.”

That's what you get when you stack your locker room with quality guys.

As opposed to the Eagles, where their Qb's are making demands that the coach name a starter.

All of this points to one thing.....Carriker needs to hang out more often with RG3, and pick up some of his healing magic dust. Perhaps even become roommates with him

Cousins also said last week that he is preparing to be the week 1 starter. I wouldn't put too much stock into what is being said in June...we'll see what's going on in August. :)

Griffin is also 23, verse Carriker who is almost 30. The body just stops healing the same way after about 27-28 or so. :(

Darryl Tapp was quoted recently as saying he was "tired of losing." When was the last time a free agent came to us with this mindset? I mean they might have said it, but the reality of the situation is that free agents have come to us in the last decade and a half to be paid. Now they look at the potential this team has and are coming here with high hopes to join a winning organization. This may not seem like it to everyone but I believe its a huge turnaround. :guitarist:

It would not surprise me if the Redskins picked up a veteran DE during the preseason. After Cofield the team is only going to keep one backup NT and currently we have two.

Yep, this is awesome! I can't remember the last time I heard a FA say that!

Well Haynesworth did say he wanted to be the next Reggie White in DC.

I want to see what these guys DO not what they say.

The Redskins are on the way back up but let's realize Winfield signed with Seattle largely because several key Redskins are coming off major injuries and no one really knows what to expect.

If everyone stays healthy and maxes their ability this team could win 12 games.

But if Griffin, Garçon or Orakpo have problems making it back we could be looking at 8 wins.

Brian Orakpo is talking a lot lately. All his chirping leads me to believe he is shopping himself for next year. I think he knows if he doesn't have a good year he's gonna have to go on name recognition to someone who staffs their team like we used to. And if he does have a good year he will use other teams' interest in him against us in negotiations.
