Random Commanders Thoughts

I'm actually torn about that - a big reason their cap is messed up is the $10M penalty they were assessed, which was just as bogus for them as it was for us. However its also the Cowboys, so how can I NOT be happy about their misfortune? Blargh...

Deciding to extend Romo until he is 37 is also a big mistake. At 32 he is past his prime and the Cowboys will be paying go declining productivity and ultimately a dead cap hit when he leaves the team.

the cowboys ridiculous tie to a qb that wasn't even drafted is pathetic.

couldn't have happened to a better franchise.

The Cowboys just restructured Kyle Orton, and are about to restructure Doug Free. They're cap situation is going to be miserable for YEARS. Awesome.

Meh... errbody said that about us for a decade. However, we are looking smarter than they are right now forced frugality and all.

Snyder though has shown that after enough failure he was willing to give up the reigns to Shanahan and Allen.

Jones will NEVER give up that kind of control as long as he is alive and well as the owner.

And hopefully he will instill the same arrogance in his son to keep that team a shell of there former greatness forever!

Is LeRib being groomed for a guard spot or eventual center?

Ha true, true.

Whoever it ends up being I'd think the FO would want him in place soon. Basically so he and Griff can click for many years....kinda like Peyton and Saturday.

No offense, brother Kevin, but we're looking smart because Allen came in and changed the culture. If we'd kept up with Vinny's business as usual, we'd be in the same spot as the Boys.

I think Monty has OC locked down for the foreseeable future. McRib will take Kory's spot for good sometime this year I'd guess.

None taken. My point is that cap hell is not something that can be predicted so easily. If so everyone and their mother would have been right the 2837 times we were "reported" as headed to cap hell. When the penalty period is over for both of our teams it is game on as usual.

I don't think you'll find anyone that will argue that we're not better off than we were with Cerrato and Snyder running the team. But even they were able to pull white bunnies out of their asses in regards to the cap. So I'm sure Jerrah isn't as bad off as we hope and I'm glad we're still not in the position that pokes fans are worrying about with what type of BS the owner is force feeding the coaches, etc..

Montgomery and Chester are both 30. My guess us you will see some changes next year when the team has some additional flexibility.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, former Eagles defensive end Darryl Tapp has agreed to a one-year deal with the Redskins.

Guessing that the Carriker injury may have caused this?

Edit: my bad I thought he was a DT. Rob Jackson replacement? Another local guy... can we have too many local guys?

Watchng NFL Live tonight, and talking about the importance of having a quality backup QB if your starter goes down, Trey Wingo referred to RG3's backup THREE times, and ALL THREE TIMES, referred to RG3's backup as "Drew Stanton"

No way? Lol they call them talking heads for a reason! Can only read what some dope writes... too funny

Yea and as I'm watching I'm thinkin, "What's worse, Trey Wingo's massive fail, or the fact that neither of the other 2 guys on the show corrected him any of the 3 times ?"

So, I started to wonder, does the show/network instruct these guys not to correct each other on such massive repeated blunders, so as not to bring attention to how bad they or the show is......or are they that uneducated ?

They are morons, but there are just too many teams to know everything about.

Imagine yourself on live tv. The cameras and lights are on......you're live this second:

Name Minnesota's backup QB.

Where did he go to college?

Now name Arizona's backup defensive end.

How many games did he play in last year, and how many sacks did he have?

Who is Cincy's backup QB?

Is this his second, third or fourth year in the league?

There is no way they can be expected to know everything about every team. It's even more difficult when the cameras are on.

We all make mistakes, people. And Fear, I'm guessing they don't always correct each other because they know they may make a mistake the next day. Or it may be because they are focusing on their own sixty second report coming right after the commercial break.

They also know what they're going to talk about ahead off time and prepare stats and such for the show. Its not off the cuff...
