WT: Redskins Injury Report

http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/redskins-watch/2012/oct/3/redskins-injury-updates-103-trent-williams-pierre/

Did anyone know that Darrell Young know has "cracked" ribs Sunday? I wonder if cracked indeed means there is a fracture, because I know how painful that can be to simply breathe...much less finish a football game.

Ya, having had fractured ribs, I find it hard to believe he player through it. Of course, a quick shot on the side lines or in the locker room can work wonders.

Kind of like way back when Emmit Smith was playing with a "torn" AC joint. Ya may be able to play with a strained AC, but having had a complete tare of my left AC, your arm is about useless without the collar bone holding up the shoulder. The AC holds the two together.

Medical terms, or associated slang, is often thrown around and inaccurate. Hell, half the time Shanny is asked about a player, he sounds a bit lost.

I remember seeing him get hurt and thinking hmmmm, Cooley played full back most of the preseason :)

That was my immediate thought too. Do they actually bring Cooley back or sign a FB? But it looks like Young is going to go this week or it'd been done by now.

Who would the Redskins cut to make room for Cooley anyway? Injuries to guys like Meriweather and Williams on the OL mean we need extra backups active just in case.

Cut Rex, he's been inactive all 4 games. Cut his ass, and if... God forbid, we need another QB, resign him. It's not like another team is going to jump at the chance to snatch him up.

I don't know, You could bring Cooley back as late as Friday, and have him on the field Sunday. I doubt he's fallen that far physically since being cut.

Its the new 3rd QB inactive-rule, so teams don't have to waste on of their 45-spots on the 3rd QB.

But they do on the 53 Lanky. Houston just dumped John Beck to make room for the help they need at Safety just yesterday. Rex is taking up a position that could be used for another need at this point. The other inactives each week are young guys who have a chance top be contributors.

I believe there wouldn't be room anyway, because the rule only applies to the 3rd, emergency QB, so we wouldn't be able to use the exception on Cousins. I could be wrong though.

EDIT: as far as the active-roster goes. You're right in that we'd be able to bring in another body to help in the secondary or OL.
