Joint Statement From Redskins/Cowboys

Eh, also a QB that got to 4 straight NFC Championship Games, and put up solid numbers. Also a good fit for the Shanahan offense, if he could have been bothered to learn it. No, this was not a Snyderatto move. A Snyderatto move would have been to sign Jeff George. Oh wait...
The Eagles defense took them to those games. The offense couldn't get the job done when it needed to. McNabb was always an inaccurate choker, and vastly overrated. Jeff George's problem was between the ears. McNabb didn't do anymore to help this franchise than George. And George didn't cost as much.

Shane Matthews? Danny Awful? Patrick Ramsey? Have you blacked out the Spurrier era?
Next to Beck, those three guys are All-Pros. Have you blacked out reality? ;)

Well...... I still think Allen did OK in cleaning up the cap mess in spite of which suck arse quarterback was starting, signed or drafted.

Having QBs who don't make 18M a year is how we get out of this mess. Imagine if RGIII was also making Tom Brady numbers on top of the cap penalties.

Huly at ES posted up a chalk talk with Allen, here's some of what she put up.

Here are some off the top of my head: I recorded it on my phone for pez but he has not gotten a chance to listen or figure out how to get it off my droid.

Q: When will RG3 sign?
A: Before Training Camp If he signs now he will be limited by NFL rules on how long he can be at Redskins Park. Right now he is there approximately 12 hours a day.

Q: How is the O:Line?
A: The O:Line is improving daily and learning the system, We are expecting to see a lot more of the running game this year. We have not seen Mike's run game yet and with RG3 in the pocket we want to draw the defenders in the pocket and explode of the run.

Q: Is Cooley going to stay and be a starting TE?
A: We are expecting to keep 6 WR and 4 TE, whoever proves best at each position will be the starter but we expect it will be a very competitive competition.

Q: Did the fines affect your FA plans?
A: Yes every word in the book was used when we found out and we probably created a few of our own. Thankfully we had already made the move for RG3 as we had to know who our QB was where we could look at the WR draft core and pick the best for our QB. We are still working on the Cap situation.

I'd love to hear a few of those "created" words. I would imagine a few names for Goodell and Mara were thrown in there as well. Fargin' Bastages! :furious2:

I wonder what that "we are still working on the Cap situation" means. Most likely just figuring out how to manage what they are stuck with but I'm hoping there is STILL something up their sleeve.

For a multi-billion dollar business, the NFL and the NFLPA together are about as incompetent as they come. It just goes to show that even when running the NFL like a Mom & Pop Grocery Store, the sport is so popular the owners are still making hand over fist.

yea...we got SCREWED!!!!!

I'm tellin ya...I will be disappointed if the fans don't generate appropriate "noise" vis Goodell and Mara for nationally televised games

Eh, TV will just block it out. Signs will be confiscated at the gates. T-shirts will be removed.

At this point, I hope the players union wins their suit and get billions from the owners, and forces many of the owners to have to sell their teams. Including Snyder and Jones. For rolling over and being blow-up dolls with pulsating orifices for the other owners and Herr Goodell to have their way with.

Bankrupt the NFL.
****'em all to hell.

There will still be football. Somewhere, somehow.

I can just see it now

The NFLPA get their day in court claiming colusion.

their lead lawyer stands infront of Judge Dotty and says I call our first Witness Mr John Mara.

he takes the stand after swearing on the bible.

The Lawyer clears his throat.

"Tell the jury Mr Mara why did the league fine the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys for overspending in uncapped year?"

Mara: "It wasn't the overspending. They dumped cap in an uncapped year in order to gain a competetive advantage over the other teams".

Lawyer: "Couldn't EVERY team have done the same thing since it was an UNCAPPED year?"

Mara: "We warned them not to".

Lawyer: "Warned them not to? Wouldn't that be considered collusion?"

Mara: "Uhhhhh........."

Mara : {trying to regain some composure} err well I take the 5th

Karma may be flowing already, could this be just the first taste for Mara? :smile2:

Well, the Pats SURELY didn't make the move because they were desperate for a quality TE, that's for sure

Oh, and Bellichek says "There's no unwritten rule"......

Ummmm, apparently he hasn't been paying attention to how Goodell does business.
I wonder how many draft picks Bellichek will lose for messing with Goodells bed-partner, John Mara

I think I might just be rooting for the Cowboys on opening day.

I just threw up in my mouth a little ...

As mad as I am at Mara, I just can't root for the 'Boys, Henry. Not in a divisional game.
