Reversal: What if the Colts take RGIII?

If we somehow managed to land Andrew Luck after the dust settles ... wow.

I can't imagine being sad about that.

I'm gearing up for Griffin, simply because it appears he's going to be Our Guy, so we might as well get used to liking him and all, but Luck is the big prize.

see I'm oppisite I feel that RGIII is the BIG prize....

Taking my usual non-committal stance I'll be delighted with the idea of having a QB who looks like a potential franchise QB with the ability to help get the Redskins back to a playoff-level team. Both of 'em have "it."

In other words, no remorse from me either way.

I will finally admit however to a slight preference for RGIII. He looks more like the NFL I see coming than the NFL we've been used to. I won't cry if it's Luck, though-he can have the Redskins in the playoffs within two years just like RGIII can and both can be starting QBs for years.

Different styles-lots of skills and smarts both ways.

Apples and oranges-and I've been starved for some healthy fruit.

fellas...what a great position to be in! no matter how this plays out I am certain of three things....our QB within a short time.....will be better than what they have

- in philly
- in new york
- in dallas

we can build around either guy...and take back what is rightfully ours. think of it.....making our way up the playoff ladder.....winging in the last Skins SB team to celebrate the moment.......

we're gonna get our QB...we're gonna get our QB! na na na na na na na na hey hey hey RGIII!!!!

Ok, who are you and what have you done to Al? :)

By the way, I agree with you ... whoever you are.

Such giddiness! But it is all good.

I'm enjoying how some Baylor fans are going to ditch the Cowboys and become Redskins fans. I knew we could do it! :)

I've been worried about this scenario ever since we made the trade. In my gut, I just feel like Luck will go down as more like Shuler, less like Manning. I've watched both kids play, and I have always preferred having the opportunity to get RG3 instead of Luck. I have never been on the Luck bandwagon, and I would honestly be upset if the Colts take our guy instead of Luck. I have gotten myself so excited at the prospect of RG3 in DC, so Luck would be a letdown for me, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

barring injury...this one move is gonna cement Shanny/Allen's names in Redskin lore forever....they had to be giddy when the trade went down. this is "the future is now"....don't you get it? they just ended the aimless journey to nowhere land. that's the real symbolism of that single act of courage and risk taking! don't get tangled up in the minutae of who we have on the roster today...that will come in time. these guys BOTH look to me to be the best prospects in the last 10 years when it comes to ALL aspects of the game. we keep "the one" healthy and the odds are weighted heavily to some real advances happening in these parts...after a too *amn long 20+ years.

na na na na na na na na hey hey hey RGIII!!!

I had the same thought reading his posts, Henry. I was trying to figure out who Al give his username and password too.

And after today, I agree too (although I have a definite preference for one Mr Griffin).

I'll admit that the only thing I know about Luck comes from 4 games I've watched him play, and what I've heard about him. Obviously, you can't judge anyone on 4 games, but from the games I watched, he didn't impress me at all.

Not only that, he's a west coast QB. I don't know how it stands all time, but in my lifetime, every west coast QB that was hyped, came to the NFL and didn't come close to living up to expectations.

Remember, we considered trading the future of the franchise for Sanchez.

In my lifetime, here are some notable west coasters who got their fair share of hype.

1. Jake Locker (way too early to tell)
2. Sanchez (looked promising, but his team thinks he's losing his ****)
3. Matt Leinart (dud)
4. Carson Palmer (could go either way, but injuries are mostly to blame)
5. Alex Smith (one decent season)
6. David Carr (dud)
7. Joey Harrington (dud)
8. Akili Smith (pffffft)
9. Ryan Leaf (HAHAHAHAHAHA)
10. Trent Dilfer ( :yawnee: )
11. Drew Bledsoe (started hot, fizzled hard)
12. Troy Aikman (**** the Cowboys)
13. John Elway (awesome QB)
14. Rich Campbell (0 career starts)
15. Jack Thompson (exactly)

This is just going back the last 32 years (what's happened in my lifetime). Guys that received the same praise as Luck The same comments were made about most of the players on this list. They were all top 10 picks that teams tried to build the franchise around, and they are all of the top 10 west coast QBs drafted in the top 10 in the last 32 years. For the most part, a pretty miserable list, when you consider teams were going crazy to get almost every one of these guys. I still emember how badly the Colts were talked about for not taking Leaf #1. People couldn't believe it. Leaf got more hype than what Luck is getting now. Hopefully the Colts won't be as lucky as the last time.

Colts were gonna take leaf but he showed up late for an interview. then bombed on some questions they asked him what he would do if they signed him he said go to vegas and party
