49ers, Redskins have contacted free agent Josh Johnson

In a Tuesday phone interview with Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News, free agent quarterback Josh Johnson revealed that he has received interest from the 49ers and Redskins since the signing period began last Tuesday.

Johnson anticipates making a free agent visit to the Niners’ facilities as soon as this week, and one with the Redskins may also be in the offing.

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was Johnson’s college coach at the University of San Diego, and Johnson would welcome a reunion.

Between them and Raheem Morris, we trying to learn their whole offensive playbook ?

Or JJ sees the Shanahan system a little more friendly toward what he can do as incentive to take a back seat. I mean where is he in SF anyway, Smith returning and (sp) Kaepernick drafted fairly high he'd be fighting for 2nd/maybe third? Here he's be a definite second by year two, maybe year one. I just don't see Rex as a "mentor" of any kind.

If we're going to change our offense to suit RG3 then why not get someone capable of some of the same things as a backup and why not be the backup if there are no starting roles available?

I think we have a better shot at getting him than many think. Do we want him? I haven't gotten to that yet! LOL

I actually think Tony Banks is one of the better QB's we've had in the last couple decades.

And he had a winning record in 4 straight seasons, including the one with the Skins. And he had his best career season when he was with the Skins. All that, while playing on some crappy teams.
