Peyton Manning is a Bronco

You guys have made a final judgment on Tebow already. I think that's where we're parting ways on this one. What you've seen has convinced you of what he can't do now and, apparently, never will. For me, what I've seen is an intriguing question of what might be possible.

Guess to me he's roster-worthy.

In support of Om's theory, there is a huge difference in Mike Vick today and Mike Vick when he was a second year pro. If Tebow could be brought along in a similar fashion, who is to say what might be possible.
 
If memory serves, when Steve Young was getting started they said he'd never be able to handle a real NFL passing game. Too much reliance on his legs.

Is Tebow another Young? Probably not.....Hall of Famers don't grow on trees.

But to me he's shown enough "it" to warrant a hard look.

Well if its true that he can't handle it from a cerebral standpoint, then maybe he is a bust. I find that hard to believe though...if Aaron Brooks lasted for as long as he did in the NFL, there is room for a Tim Tebow.

Just saw on Twitter that the Bills were very interested in Tebow pre-draft, and Jim Kelly even had dinner with him a month before.

If the team in question is thinking about starting him this year, I'm with you Henry. I wouldn't want him starting here in 2012 either, RGIII notwithstanding. But if the question is, if I had an established veteran starter and no young hotshot being groomed behind him, would I want Tebow on my squad for 2-3 learning from said entrenched starter? Hell yes.

Or rather, gosh yes.

Peyton's parents must be incredibly proud. What an impressive man.
 
Om, he's not a rookie. He didn't get thrown into the fire. He's HAD two years to learn and be groomed. He sat behind Orton for a year and a half and when he came in the Broncos STILL had to completely re-work their offense to make it go for Tebow.

And considering that Tebow was not brought in by the current coach, it makes perfect sense that the current coach would want to try grooming his own guy, rather than wait a couple more years on the hope that the previous coach's draftee will someday turn into a different type of player.
 
That's fair, Henry. He has had 2 years....and all he's done with it is take a 1-4 train wreck of a team to the 2nd round of the playoffs in his first extended stretch of playing time.

Just playin' at this point...all I'm saying is if I'm Denver, I keep the dude around at least another year to see if maybe he gets Paytonized enough to be worth something.

For the record, I don't think the guy is a loser. I think it's pretty amazing he's been able to win with the skills he has.

I do think he's not the type of guy that will ever be Paytonized. He's gotta win his way. Like I said, he's not exactly a rookie.
 
What about the Redskins? What if we got him for a 7th? No, he wouldn't become insurance for RG3 going down or become the eventual No. 2. Thinking along the lines of multiple formations at times and even using him as a decoy on occasion.
 
I'm not convinced if the Broncos had had the guts to develop him that they couldn't eventually make it work. But you'd really have to believe you could build the offense around him and win despite never having a pro passing game the way we traditionally define one. Thing about last year was, I'm not sure the Broncos didn't win a lot of games in spite of having Tebow at QB, versus because of it.

I'm not sure where a guy like him fits in? Certainly not on any team where they run anything like a West Coast offense. Pittsburgh might be a possibility. Not sure where else I could see it even having a chance of success.
 
Tim Tebow will end up as a tight end, H-back or other to stay in the NFL long-term. I think that is Bellichick's interest in him. He sees him as a guy that can be a fullback that can run a 4.5 and take the pounding.

Tebow wants to be a quarterback but over time he will see that option has closed.
 
If everything Florio wrote here is true, this is not Peyton's finest hour. I have to agree with him. Retired jerseys should stay retired. I sure don't want to see anyone, no matter how great, wearing Sammy's #33 or Darrell's #28 on the field for the Skins.
 
This, from NFL Blogs, makes sense to me-the Jaguars could really use Tebow to bring some bodies to the stadium and make an effort to restore a seriously flagging fanbase-at least owner Shad Kahn thinks so from what I've been hearing. They need something down there.

The Jaguars and Jets, along with several other teams, have serious interest in trading for Broncos QB Tim Tebow, a league source told NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi on Tuesday.

Moments after the news broke Monday that Peyton Manning would be joining the Broncos, a source told NFL Network’s Albert Breer that the team had begun to explore Tebow deals and was looking for a trading partner.

The Broncos are expected to be agreeable toward what teams are willing to give in any potential Tebow trade, according to Lombardi. Denver used a first-round pick (25th overall) to take Tebow in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville native Tim Tebow, soon to be shipped out of Denver, supposedly says he wants to play in Florida. And one of the teams in Florida reportedly is very interested in making that happen.

Michael Lombardi of NFL Network reports that the Jaguars have “serious interest” in trading for Tebow.

Given that G.M. Gene Smith is widely believed to be a non-believer in Tebow, it’s safe to say that the interest comes from, well, on high. New owner Shad Khan has said he would have drafted Tim Tebow in 2010. Now, Khan has a chance to put his money where his mouth is.

And in turn to make a whole lot of money.

If the deal goes down, there will be plenty of awkwardness in the locker room. Last week, Smith gave Chad Henne a $3 million signing bonus to serve as Blaine Gabbert’s backup. Two years ago (almost to the day) Henne made waves by proclaiming that Tebow “isn’t an NFL quarterback.”

An ownership-driven decision to force Tebow onto the roster also could drive a wedge between Smith and Khan. Already, we’ve caught wind of rumors that the two men aren’t clicking the way they should — and there’s talk in league circles that Smith may not be around after the draft concludes.

If Tebow time comes to Jacksonville, Smith may not want to be.
