Doubt that this will be allowed to stick. Just can't change the rules for two teams only and on a whim. If it happens, two of the more powerful owners will buck the league on key issues at future meetings - a fair number of owners tend to follow the lead of Snyder and Jones.

Like Washington and Dallas were the only two teams to take advantage of an uncapped year? Seriously?

Can't wait to hear this whole story cause you know there is more to this.

It was more than just Haynesworth. We dumped several vets in the uncapped year. Fat Al probably carries a $25 mil cap now and the others probably add up to a similar amount. Add in the DHall contract and we're probably looking at being $30 mil in the hole. A ton of players would need to be released by 4pm tomorrow.

If it is allowed to stand, I would get the lawyers to file a lawsuit to get an injunction asap.

ESPN report is it's $36 million...which the Skins can allocate over this year and next year however they choose.
 
It's official. We just lost the cap space and we are in the hole big time. Cowboys too, but not as bad.

The other 30 teams will get $1.6 in extra cap space via the Redskins and Cowboys.
 
The purge begins. We are about to be set back by another five years. We have the franchise QB, but that will be about it.

WTF? Did I take the Red Pill this morning, or don't ALL contracts have to be approved by the NFL prior to taking effect? Given that, WTF were they doing approving stuff that they are now retroactively saying were an abuse? Anyone else think Danny should allocate all the hit to next year so he can spend the next 12 months putting his foot up Goodell's ass?
 
Don't be surprised if two teams (maybe more - rumors of several teams now) file for an injunction. They will win too. Just can't change the rules on a whim. Wouldn't put it past Jerry to become the new Al Davis - not run his team like Al - but file suits along the way now. This is one time where I would support him.

Be interesting to see what asterisks the NFL is going to point to to justify this.

Not to mention justify doing it on the eve of FA.

It's punitive beyond reason.
 
Yes, this has anti-trust written all over it. I'm completely serious about deferring the hit until next year, given that option, and then suing the league if they don't reverse this ridiculousness.

Well, after the giddiness of the past 4 days, I once again feel that familiar feeling of being a Washington Redskins fan.
