btw...how nice that the White House is helping organize the protests in Wisconsin. These people may be totally INCOMPETENT when it comes to leadership....but they are experts when it comes to violence and division. pay attention to what many of the protestor signs had to say? think MSNBC/NYT will report on these like they purport to do at Tea Party rallys? I also saw some clips yesterday from a Liberal gatherning where a roaming reporter asked attendees about Clarence Thomas. Let's just say the responses would make any hood wearing wingnut proud!
also...you notice yesterday that geitner basically admmitted in testimony to Congress that the President's buget submission will end up increasing the deficit over 10 years?

I don't have a problem with protesting: what's good for the Tea Party is good for Union pensioners. My gripe is with...
- the White House organizing these efforts
- elected officials not performing duties they are paid to perform (lurking off to a bar in IL)
- teachers falsely calling in sick. they want to protest? take a day off without pay. and put in motion efforts to replace them...
- the horribly denigrating things these people are writing on their placards/protest signs...oh wait....only right wing ideologues label people neo-Hitlers and wish for the demise of their political opponents

The Unions in WI are a hoot. From my pov...I hope this is about Union busting. We all know one dynamic here is public workers being forced to participate in Unions and subsequently funneling their money........milions and millions of dollars...to Democrat candidates and causes. who the F are these people kidding?
btw...in the last two years...who has been at the top of Obama's WH visitors list? Andrew Stern. Yea...no politics at all in this. It's all about what'S "right".

I have no problem with public employees joining a union, collectively bargaining and even going on strike, if there is competition. So tell the teachers that they can keep their union but they’re going to give the parents all vouchers and they can send their kids to whatever school they want.
If they did that (which the teacher unions would really fight) a lot of those public schools would compete very well. They would get rid of the deadwood, bid up the salaries and benefits for the best teachers, i.e. the ones who would draw students (and their voucher money) to their school and get rid of troublemaker students who disrupt the education for everyone.
But right now the public employee union have a monopoly and like any monopoly, they exist to generate higher than market value profits for the owners. The only thing that puts a limit on their demands is the willingness and ability of the taxpayers to foot the bill. Fortunately, we have finally reached that point and the push back is driving the left nuts.
BTW, I was really quite amazed by the large majorities the Republicans have in the Wisconsin legislature given it’s status as a blue state.

In a separate vane..when all is said and done...I'll give credit where due to both Obama and Walker: they both followed through on what they said they would do. there's no mystery here on either side.
Someone should tell Bill O'Reilly that Obama is butting in up there.
