What you look for in the preseason is discipline and execution. Score doesn't matter. Toe to toe, we played well. More, we played well against a team that was 4-0 against teams in his preseason openers. The Steelers don't slough in the preseason and if you listened to their coach you could tell he saw some stuff that made him unhappy.

Does this game mean a lot ultimately? Who knows. It is a building block and a young team needs those.

actually, it is. either **** or get off the pot. this isnt spurrier's team, this isnt even zorn's team. vinny is long gone. sure, you have the scars that show you have been thru the war but its over. stop flinching every time you see a 3rd and long and start getting excited.

or find some team that you can be happy with that is perfect.

dude...I have been following this team since before you were born.

I get that you want everyone to adopt your emotional approach on just about everything. that's cool.

you're picking a fight here where there is nothing to fight over. Uniformity of behavior has never really appealed to me. I'll digest "reality" as I chose and find my own way to express support and disappointment. the ship has been righted and a new course set - what's to be upset about? it's a matter of trust whether one happens to believe that or not...I do. in which case...one keeps the destination in mind and weathers the occasional squalls along the way.

Im not picking a fight with you, Al. Relax, this isnt the Political Asylum. I was just making funny analogies and trying to keep it light amongst everyone who is still doom and gloom over Spurrier. Boone got it, Goal got it..maybe you should too.

either way.....we both agree on one thing: the past is gone and things are looking positive for the first time in a long time...that's something I can hold onto!

Just remember that Vinny Cerrato and Dan Snyder were at the helm when the decision was made to bring in Spurrier and to bring in the cast of characters that were here in 2002 and 2003 playing under him.

Spurrier was an embarrassment of a coach in terms of his lack of preparation and failure to bond with his players, but the fact the front office went out and gave him Trung Canidate to run the ball after Stephen Davis departed and brought in Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerffel, Reidel Anthony and a host of others counts in this as well.

This was a dysfunctional organization from top to bottom and the record reflected that.
