Portis in 2009 to me is where Shaun Alexander was in 2006. A year removed from a very productive season but clearly on the decline.

Portis is going to cost a bundle to move off the roster but 2010 might just be the year the team can do it.

Which is precisely why it makes sense that Portis career herein DC will end. It is a big time money contract and the Redskins are getting the same production from backup guys this year at a very small fraction of the cost.
