Enjoyed the C discussions especially. It has been an issue since the dreadful day they surprise released Allegretti.

Regarding Gulbin, I think if he has the opportunity to play and work with Allegretti on line calls, communications etc...he should be able to start at some point this season. Allegretti being out actually hurts him right now in my opinion because it is such a cerebral position.

Boone, as a note on rookies starting, Biadasz was Dallas's backup to start his first season. He ended up playing in 12 games and started 4. He then became their starter for the next 3 years. Just one example. Gulbin is a smart dude that plays with an attitude and has an excellent anchor, that should make him a better payer than Biadasz and gives him the upper hand on Allegretti

Kudos to Primus Porcus for doing the overview on Gulbin. I think it would be even harder for Gulbin to be thrust into an early starting role for a couple of reasons. Firstly, his 'mentor' Allegretti, while super experienced at guard, has not played much NFL center. I think overall, having been a center his entire life prior to hitting the NFL, Gulbin could learn a lot from Allegretti - but it is also true that Allegretti himself is in learning/refamiliarization mode. Secondly, it's a brand new offense. Maybe that just puts Gulbin at the same level as everyone else, but I do think there will be more potential for confusion, miscues, and mistakes especially early on because it is all new.

I'm not arguing it's impossible for him to start, just that I don't think throwing a rookie into the fire at one of the most important and cerebral positions on the roster would be ideal. I think not retaining Biadasz or acquiring an experience capable vet at center is a big risk and I wish we had come up with a better plan.

Agree with all regarding C. THe reason they were a least somewhat comfortable with Allegretti was his prior experiences and how he, while playing G, was making all the line calls last year when Biadasz was out. Perhaps he should have while Biadasz was in too if Tyler was that poor at it. I am not too familiar with it but I do not think a G making the calls is very common. It does show they trusted Allegretti.

I absolutely do not expect Gulbin to start right way and I'm sure the staff does not expect that either. It does however feel like he was an excellent late round pick that will stick for years.

The Biadasz release debacle was and still is a bad look for AP. I am hoping Allegretti and Gulbin can make it look better with the new offense. They should have had another C signed before cutting Tyler perios though, even if it was so Allegretti and name the experienced vet completed for the starting C role
