The Pigs discuss the other NFC opponents on our 2026 schedule and discuss how the Commanders match up.

With the Rams defensive upgrades could we see a top 5 defense and offense from them this year?
A lot will depend on Garrett and how he fares against the NFC. Last year he had 2.5 sacks against NFC opponents. 1.5 against Chicago and 1 against SF. 12 sacks came in 3 games
5 against NE, 4 against Balt, and 3 against LV. I'm not saying he's not a beast, but now I'm wondering, does the NFC have way better LT's and guards than the AFC (we know he needs to double team).

Seattle, defending champs., solid all around, they did lose their #1 RB but picking Price out of ND is not a slouch coming into backfill. Of course we could see a season after SB curse because they did kind of come out of nowhere last year, no one will be sleeping on them this year. Darnold is in a system that works best to his strengths, NFC west could be a bloodbath next year with the Cards
well being what the Cards were in the NFC E back in the day.

Vikings- who the f knows, what a disaster moving on from Darnold for JJ. Can mighty mouse I mean
can Murray find that initial magic again? I think we end up of seeing Wentz by week 8 as the starter.
He might not be what he was before his soul was crushed but he's a more consistent option imo than those 2 previously mentioned.

Cards - :poop: - nuff said

I think the external take from fans and media experts on JJ McCarthy is probably significantly different than how the VIkings view him. He is essentially still a rookie QB having missed all of his true rookie season with a meniscus tear and then getting knocked out of action in 2025 after 10 games with a high ankle sprain. I don't think the Vikings are anywhere close to giving up on him after making him the 10th pick of the 2024 draft. He is going to get an extended shot whether it's right out of the gate this season or down the road.
