A Skins Offensive Starter Giving Away Prime Seats To Falcons Fans?

Sounds like a great experience... Interestingly, the issue with your dilemma for Redskins fans had nothing to do with your jersey (actually, in retrospect, other than possibly putting your friend in a tight spot, probably nothing wrong at all with wearing opposing colors). Most were reacting to a Skins player giving seats to fans of the opposing team. In some ways, it's a stupid response, as we all have close friends who are die-hard fans of some other team. I've gone to NFL games with friends who were rooting for the other team (although it made me nervous to do so). So we probably shouldn't be shocked or horrified that a player would occasionally do something similar.

Anyway, appreciate the respectful post and well wishes. If we make it past Seattle and end up facing Atlanta, would love to hear your thoughts.

Daaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!!

Welcome to the board. I've always been a Turner fan(i live in san diego) and when you got Jones i knew that was bad for the nfc in general.

Welcome to the board and I hope you stick around. We could use non fans input as well...and you definitely seem worthy.

I would def like to find another board to post on. I do get tired of the debbie downers over at the Falcons board always talking about firing/trading everyone, but I guess every team has fans that act that way after a loss or sloppy win. My I can bring an objective point of view here for you guys? Talk people off of the proverbial ledge? I would like that.

You are 100% right, sometimes its hard to step away and look at it objectively. I remember last season, seeing one of Matt Ryan's family members (his cousin I believe) wearing an Eagle's jersey to the prime time game in which we played the Eagles. A lot of Falcon's fans got their tits in a ringer about it. But you have to look at it this way; it would have been really gay for him to wear is cousins jersey. I know I would feel like a asshat if I wore my buddies jersey to the redskins game. Hell, that would have probably been MORE awkward to his teammates than if I would have worn a Falcons jersey.

eh, no biggie imho... and if nothing else, this guy could start shifting his way over to being more of a Skins fan... It would be hard to root against a best friend, and even harder when he's let you mingle with the team...

edit: i should probably read an entire thread before posting my opinion... lol

welcome to the board Kert!

Welcome to the board - glad that you found your way over here. :)

IF (and "IF" in caps to emphasize) the Redskins get by the Hags, then we hope you will spend part of your week with us and share some additional insight.

Be sure to stop by often though and best wishes in the new year.

It kind of feels like much ado about nothing to me to be honest. Welcome kert!! Heck, this could be the infancy of new fandom and if not, thanks for rooting for the skins this week anyway!

PS. Something else that separates this place form another I know is the obvious higher level of maturity and good old common sense continually displayed. Its nice.

Heh funny thread. I had the WTF?" reaction to several different parts. 1. the story itself was weird, but then Extreme's google background check....WOW! Remind me never to piss Extreme off even if he was wrong. ;)

Anyway, welcome!

Thanks for the warm reception. I see that my intuition about skins fans was not wrong. I have to be honest, I was getting my flame suit ready before I posted here.

In the interest of full disclosure, my wife and I attended this game with 2 other couples, both of which were skins fans. So we were the odd men out in the end. But we still had a great time.

If I get time later, I will try to post a few of the pics that we snapped from the game. Good luck tomorrow guys, beat those hags!

Welcome to the board. I was always a big fan of Warrick Dunn, both on and off the field.

I'd be interested to hear your feelings about Michael Vick as a QB.

Its a touchy subject in Atlanta. Not as much as it used to be, but some still hold their breath when talking about it. Its like asking someone who they voted for, but I digress.

As a QB, I think Vick, if given a good O-Line, is still a serviceable QB. Is he top 10? Absolutely not. But, I am sure that he will start somewhere next year.

His accuracy in the passing game has improved greatly since he was with us. But he still makes bad decisions, and having a bad O-Line this year definitely did not help.

At his age, he cannot make plays like he used to. His body simply cannot hold up. His attitude and approach to the game is a lot better than when he was with us. Although, at times , he still seems like the same old thug that we drafted all those years ago (see last weeks game after he got benched).

There is no doubt that he still entertaining, whether it be because of his great play or from watching him turn it over 6 times. If he had the ethic and the accuracy that he has showed later in his career, when we drafted him; the Falcons would have been a different team. But I try not to dwell on what could of been.

At the end of the day, he put our franchise in a hole, and when he got out of jail he became an EAGLE! Put a bunch of dead puppies on top of all that, and what's not to hate? But that's just my opinion.

From me, living in SD, I think the Chargers got the better end of the deal. They got LT out of it, and we cant forget Tim Dwight too. That guy was a good little WR and return man for a while. Plus they ended up getting some scrub named Drew Brees later too.
Yeah, they did, from a football perspective. However, the Falcons got the better in of the deal in merchandise sales. Not that selling jerseys wins championships, but you know what I mean.

Welcome to the board! Most rational fans realize these types of things happen, and its no big deal. The truth of the matter is that our owner's partnership with stubhub puts more opposing team fans butts in the seats than our own players ever could. So, welcome!

This is a lie. I never received or responded to a message about the original thread, on our forums.

Don't worry about Extreme - he's like that drunk uncle that everyone tries to ignore at the wedding. Can't kick him out cause he's family, but nobody takes him very seriously. :)
