Is this the first superfan we've had as a player in the social media era? Guys like Logan Thomas, Kendall Fuller, Chase Young and Jon Allen were local but I don't recall them being fans to this extent growing up

We don't have a lead secondary coach or defensive PGC. We could use one of the highest football IQ defenders in the league the last 15 years helping to teach our young secondary the scheme while on the field. As much grief as Bulldog and others have given Von Miller for being here, Jacob Martin...

He is 37 and probably will be one of the best players to not make the Hall of Fame. Given his understanding of the Flores D and his ability to teach it in meeting rooms, I’d love to have him on a 1 year deal. Cut Will Harris, Butler, Owens or Quan to make room

So why did the Jags, a good org led by Coen and Gladstone, give CRod that deal instead of signing someone for the vet minimum?

We are in tough shape if Tate and Love are gone and Fano has not been taken. If Tate and Love have been taken and the Browns take Fano, it means Reese or Bailey has fallen to us. You run up to the podium and take one of those two

That’s not true. I don’t have it on front of me but he is a highly effective runner on a down to down basis. He’s averaged 4.6 ypc without the home run type of runs inflating this number He also lacks as a pass catcher but he certainly checks the box as a rusher and pass protector

What benefit accrues to the team now for sticking it to him? By your logic, we can justify what Bruce and Dan did with Trent in 2019

SF is not a classy organization. We are a classy organization. Below is what a classy organization does. We could’ve controlled CRod on the RFA tender and probably let him know he was competing for a job in camp and to shop to see what else was out there and his agent found him a very good life...

If this were, say, Kittle, they would have released him already. They are sticking it to him unnecessarily and the team and league sees this. No one is trading for him. 1) A team is not paying him $20M+ in base salary next year. Aiyuk is certainly not restructuring. 2) Seeing his actions...

The Front Office: Adam Peters and Roster Construction

The guy got a core muscle injury after holding in through most of training camp. Not a surprise. When he did play this year, he was his awesome self, 83 PFF grade and 23 pressures off 285 snaps. Since 2020, he barely missed any game. Maybe 1-2 a season and played all 17 games in 23 and 24...

Wise and JJb had gone down by then too. We just didn’t have a starting caliber pass rusher left on the roster. Now, if Armstrong and Oweh were to go down, Chiasson is a starting caliber player

I think the team understands the risk here, which is 1) why it'd be a 1 year prove it deal and 2) they are set on trying to bring in another receiver in addition to Aiyuk

Is your view that Hendrickson is suddenly going to become a Deatrich Wise level player just because he is over 30? Hendrickson signed for the same money that Phillips got with fewer guarantees given age. I would be surprised if Hendrickson doesn't outperform Phillips the next two years.

Here's the other thing with Aiyuk. We've never been the team that has lucked out into being the destination for a situation like this. It's always been one of the "elite" franchises.
