I would agree if he had more reps at full speed but this was his first play in a real game speed. It would seem to me the coach would let him acclimate just a bit. The dump off was clearly there for him but he was still focused downfield with that DL already in his face. Given how things went...
Jayden had his head elevated and up looking downfield...clear he was looking 20-30 yards out IMO. Should have been looking at LOS to see if blocks where there first. I think Quinn's practices are 1/2 speed and Jayden is clearly not in NFL gear yet. Again, Camp Gruden with Quinn...going to start...
They should stop the F'n long developing plays on 1st down for his 1st time out!! He has NO time...so adjust your plays ( they did try one but failed). They better have a better running game and quick hits if JD is going to survive until OL gels....but YES..play him but be allot smarter on play...
I hope last year was more the OC and DC game plans were the source of crappy play than players not executing...I HOPE. If Quinn continues with CAMP Gruden and fails again I hope he is gone next season..
"His hands were tied on the offensive side of the ball till the off season and he acted quickly, and clearly decisively."
This is why I gained respect for Quinn. Obviously, He and Kliff didn't mesh for what ever reason. As for Kliff delivering a productive Offense...he got his 2 "starter" QB's...
What I expected was in 2025 DQ putting his foot down and telling KK to scheme LESS Pass aggression, more pass protect and run the ball on into the end zone at the 1 yard line...This is why I am down on DQ. He didn't do it or KK ignored him. KK didn't adjust I'm glad he moved on. Might have been...
Yes...I thought he threw too much especially close to goal line. The Oline couldn't hold off the rush with the patterns he was calling. I thought a quicker short game would have worked better. I read somewhere the run game was producing 3.5+ yards on 1st down and he kept passing more often on...
You have to know when something is NOT working BEFORE it snowballs. DQ didn't react quick enough with EITHER Coordinator. Honestly, I thought Rivera was back on the sideline.
I've lost allot of confidence in DQ. Worst of both predecessors. Club Jay and DUH Ron.
Last year the "Scheme" has been predictable and down right stupid sometimes...he can't do worse I guess. We need someone to think up some "Tush Push" kind of rule bending approaches. Can he be that guy? I hope so...
Assuming most OC's know fundamental football/defensive schemes..what makes a GOOD OC? Ability to use deception/scheme to get into the right play? Motivate players to play above their heads (ie) players more willing to risk their body? Ability to teach develop Young Players quickly? Killer...
I wonder if these new DC/OC will sit their players during preseason. That was a harbinger of the season IMHO. I had bad vibes from the jump and the Packers game put the exclamation point on the sentence. I fall back on the George Allen and Joe Gibbs ethos..you play like you practice. Trying to...
Like Jay Gruden, this guy played the QB position and took the hits. Jay was a very good OC (Not HC). These guys are better equipped to design a offense than a coach with just passive experience alone. This is ASSUMING he has the smarts and dedication to really digest his opponents strengths and...
DQ seems to be putting allot of rhetoric out there that the team will show up BIG. I hope it's not just talk...did he really put the team on NOTICE? I mean jobs (coaches and players) are on the line....
lots of talk...be embarrassing if the team is flat..
but I thought keeping the starters out of preseason was going to avoid these injuries...just sayin...
If they were hurt in preseason...you still had time and a talent pool to draw from. Shades of county club Gruden...
Dan banked on Lattimore being a shut down corner NOT a liability. The whole D scheme they practiced off season is out the window because Lattimore isn't doing his job. They are reluctant to bench him (for some reason) and try a different mix back there because they haven't practiced it. They...
Oldest team in the league that had the most CAP Space and they SAT on it. Is that on Peters? Did Quinn have any input? (sounds familiar don't it only one level down from owner)
Quinn has coached scared. He was afraid of injuries in preseason so nobody got the necessary work...he didn't (couldn't) know the product he put on the field until its too late...he's playing players based on PAST performance (Latttimore/Gay). He has to realize his LB's have lost speed to the...
