    True. Just as we were once the Boston Braves sharing a stadium with ... the Boston Braves baseball team. Then we moved to Fenway and changed to Redskins to pair up with the Red Sox. Maybe Boston would help their prodigal sons and let us become the Washington Red Sox. ;)

    Well it's not as if the native peoples of the Americas actually have red skin. ;) Burgundy is a variation of Red. As I understand it, those colors were picked because they are similar to those of Harvard and Boston College. The Braves/Skins began in Boston and it was the college football influence.
