That red zone defense - especially after the penalthy on 4th down and giving the Giants another fresh set of downs - was when I was completely sold on this defense. That was a statement… they dominated. They gave uo nothing.
And no one is talking about the 2nd and 15 play by Ekeler that iced...
That’s what I thought. Because I’ve been wondering why I haven't heard/read anyone asking why he simply didn’t spike the ball yet. Why rush it? Give the coaches an opportunity make a decision on 4th.
Especially so if they were going to call a run play knowing the clock was ticking.
Last year Washington started the season with a heavy emphasis on the rushing attack. It made sense to take some of the pressure off the rookie QB.
But I don’t think that’s going to be the strategy starting this season. I think the offense is going to be able to score early and often.
Whether...
KK should start every game off with RPO with Jayden keeping the ball like how he started the Panther game last year.
No one expects that. They waste at least 3-4 RPO plays where no one respects JD the first few attempts and they all swarm to the back. While KK tries to see how the defense it...
A very north-south runner. No wasted steps. Hits the holes full speed. Keeps the legs churning after contact (falls forward). Looks like very good speed (not elite). That’s the kind of developmental prospect you want on the practice squad. Good pickup.
I think you saw a bit of a preview in the preseason 😊 Jayden stepping up in the pocket and using the middle of the field… and turning it inside because defenders will be guarding the sideline.
Taylor Jacob’s history was one of a player who apparently practiced well but never performed in actual games.
Gay has actually been one of the better kickers in the NFL in recent history who missed 2 field goals in pre-season.
So.., not really?
But I understand irrational hatred.
It’s just...
It’s not baffling. He has a guaranteed $4+M contract. The team isn’t going to eat that. It’s been reported he’s been kicking well all camp. It’s way too early to cut bait.
Admittedly, I only watched the first half last night. Hartman makes football unwatchable.
But I saw what i wanted to see. No injuries. Great pass protection. Excellent run blocking. Great run defense. Great tackling. Good QB pressure. Even the special teams were much improved.
The only thing...
I watched that interview and felt the exact same after that reply. That was the moment I gave up on him.
Seems like a likeable person and good kid though.
He definitely did that at the beginning of his career. But in the last 2 years, he’s just been getting stuffed at the line of scrimmage. Most of his runs are 1-2 yards. He just breaks a couple of longer runs to push up his average.
Those are the first Washington football items I’ve bought in the last 20 years. I’m also waiting for the white hat and the red camo hat to be restocked so I can purchase them too. $300 in hats 😂
And it’s just the beginning.
Mostly because this franchise has committed to be a respectable...
