This is largely why this hasn't worked me up that much, because I see no scenario where he doesn't play for us from Week 1. Neither of the options are really bad for us, yeah some underlying bad blood with a key player is not great but he's not gonna take it out on his teammates and I don't see...
Dreams of a 2nd are just that, dreams. He's worth more to us on an expiring deal and a year of franchise tag than the picks we'd get for him.
And I just cannot imagine he will Leveon Bell himself. Just don't see it.
I feel like there are folks who don't know that there's literally no chance that he won't be on the field for us this year, and probably next year, basically no matter what. Unless someone offers us something crazy. He's not sitting out, he's not getting traded.
Point of note: If Terry's PR gambit is his Eastern Motors press conference, and hamming it up with autographs during a hold-in, the team's PR gambit will be through Schefter. This is the game.
Not hamstringing 2027/2028 does not equal having to make a trade for meager return when we aren't trying to clear cap space right now. He's way more valuable to us on the control we already have, no new deal needed, than what he's worth to another team in a trade.
