The Gruden Files - Year Two

No not accurate. Robert has ONE year in this system. You guys are using different standards.

The Gruden Files - Year Two

Oh and Om to be fair to myself at least I am NOT going JUST by one year's results. It's the incredibly low level of competence that gets me. I get that every rookie HC has a learning curve and every one deserves the time to get it right. I've always been one who preached patience. But sometimes...

The Gruden Files - Year Two

The amusing thing to me here is that the EXACT same thing has occurred with Robert but the double standard kicks in and he's not subject to the same leeway. If Gruden gets extra time to adjust to new things then why doesn't Griffin who's been coached the same way his entire life until VERY...

That and the pseudo super man pose with his legs spread and his hands on his hips... and of course always the head tilt. Cracks me up just thinking about it.

The Gruden Files - Year Two

Sorry it was Raider fans that lamented play calling. Bengal fans missed his fire and the way he coached up the WR's. Johnson and Housmandzeda (sp?) tore it up during his tenure. This is HJ's second stint with the Bengals.

Completely meaningless but amusing (to me anyway) aside: Did you know that David Caruso refused to sit for any takes? He had it written into his contract and almost never sat with the exception of shots in the HUMMER. That goofball totally cracks me up...I never missed that show for the...

Only if they come with a head tilt, sunglasses drop and a SUPER cheesy yet unintentionally funny line followed by The Who. :)

The Gruden Files - Year Two

Yes, actually a lot of Bengal fans were bummed when he left and have lamented his play calling and fiery motivational skills ever since. They laugh when Gruden is brought up.

The Gruden Files - Year Two

Sure that's possible but it doesn't jibe with all of the reports about his improved play and the fact that he was the set in stone starter (supposedly) from day one until the day he was concussed. It also discounts what he's already done for us. That is huge to me...2012 might as well have not...

Yea how is that possible? there are teams on that list that have made the Super Bowl recently. The Cardinals? The Bungals? The Bengals have made several playoff runs the last decade. Nuts.

London Fletcher has a bit more of an inside line than just about anyone on this board I'm betting. I guess he's spinning it too. :) You're right though...we brought in the reputed "QB Guru" who had actually played the position himself to fix...the Defense, or was it something else? We brought...

The Gruden Files - Year Two

Epic spin and it aint gonna fly around here. You were the one who couldn't grasp that the point being made was specific to year one even though that was clearly stated...repeatedly. We haven't even played a game yet in year two so concluding we've improved is a premature bust at best, comical at...

The Gruden Files - Year Two

Well we don't KNOW anything then if that's the level of scrutiny. What we DO have is a pretty good body of evidence to conclude that he was indeed lying. I look at what he said as recently as a few DAYS before the concussion yet suddenly after it he's not only not good enough to start but...

The Gruden Files - Year Two

I don't agree that all it means is squat. Joe Gibbs didn't need to bullshit the press, he just didn't tell em anything. I don't respect lying as a strategically sound ploy. It hurts credibility and can lead to other distraction for the team in the future say when someone "allegedly" gets a...

The Gruden Files - Year Two

Again reading is fundamental. The claim has been made that nothing improved across the board in year one. He brings in a QB coach in year TWO who is actually coaching the QB and it's improving. You're right though Gruden is a GENIUS!

The Gruden Files - Year Two

If your starting O line is that devastated and you're going to be playing arguably the best D in the league then it would be prudent to maybe not even play Griffin at all (preseason and all) or when it's evident he's not being protected pull him after one series, not throw him back in to the...

The Gruden Files - Year Two

And yet until that game he was telling us how much improvement there was and that Griffin was ready to go. Yet as you say here we are and that evaluation led to him being benched. So which time was he bullshitting us?
