The All Things Offensive Line Thread

I’m usually on the side of defending AP, but I don’t see how there’s any question that Badass should’ve been retained, whether as a backup or competing with Allegretti for the starting spot. Makes no sense to help out another team by letting him go unless we needed the cap space, which we...

    Random Commanders Thoughts

56 huh? As a 57-year-old I’d like to state that that is in fact possible. At least that’s what I’m claiming…

What does success look like in 2026?

You may be right on this. Just look at Mike McDaniel. Yes the chargers spot is a real good gig, but it didn’t even seem like he was considering coming here despite his love for DQ and the fact that we had a young stud mobile QB for him to work with. But then again, if we had hired two...

The Front Office: Adam Peters and Roster Construction

This I would normally agree with. But is he really too expensive when we have all that cap space? I’d rather have an expensive backup than not use that money on anything. And it’s not like it wouldn’t have been off the books going forward after this season anyway.

And maybe the coaches were taken back by the fact that we were balking and took it as a sign of disrespect. Would explain why Ben Johnson blew us off after initially being interested and why McDonald felt more wanted in Seattle.

Hopefully, he doesn’t end up ‘in that space’!

What does success look like in 2026?

Yep, this makes sense. What concerns me about your post is the last part… more evidence of the billionaires who own this team being cheap when it comes to contracts, and that AP is possibly handcuffed by it. Definitely not good if they passed on what they thought were better coaches over a...

What does success look like in 2026?

I think I’m even further out on this limb than you. Obviously he’s no Vince Lombardi, but I just think he’s catching way too much shit for last year over things that were mostly out of his control. No team/coach could have survived that level of injuries and bad luck with that schedule. Say...

The Front Office: Adam Peters and Roster Construction

I agree with this completely. I really wish we had been more aggressive last off-season as well, but the silver lining is it wouldn’t have mattered anyway with all the injuries and bad luck. The draft capital and salary cap space that we held onto will now serve us well going forward. That...

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

i’ve done a lot of complaining about unspent cap room… but if things go well this year, free agency next year should be real fun with tons of money to spend from the carryover. And also, if somebody really good unexpectedly comes available during the season, we will be in a good position to...

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Awesome news!! Took a lot longer than we all expected, but AP got the job done. Catching up on the last several pages, it’s great seeing this thread completely flip to nothing but humor and good vibes. I think I’m gonna Comm 😂😂😂 I can’t stop laughing at that one

Nope, still the same story where there’s no reason for the 49ers to cut him just so he can go to another team. Although it is getting close to the point where the 49ers may cut him anyway, thinking he’s too much of a head case to help another team anyway and actually is more likely to sabotage...

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I just spent the last two years complaining that they always go cheap and old in free agency, so far be it from me to get upset if they don’t sign Diggs. Sometimes though as in this case, it is necessary to sign one as a stop gap. But when bringing in a grizzled veteran, I really prefer a high...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

Dude, you need to stay off of Reddit or whatever social media you’re getting this from. Otherwise it’s exactly what you should expect and they’re gonna drive you crazy! Some people define WR1 as top 12 because of fantasy and if that’s the context you can easily make an argument that Terry is a...

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Getting it right is a different story. It’s rarely going to be the case even for the best GM’s. And I don’t think we have enough of a track record to say they are good or bad at it at this point. Time will tell but for now I’m happy with the process.

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I like the BPA strategy better so I loved the pick. It’s the likeliest way to land a stud. Then you spend in free agency to fill your holes… that’s the part where we’ve come up short. Granted there certainly were a lot of holes to fill, but we have/had the cap space to do it.

Awesome thanks. Confirms what we already have heard. Hopefully they stop being so frugal and just pay the man! He’s already stated he wants to come here, and i’m willing to bet we have way more cap room than any of the other teams pursuing him. Training camp has already begun so this needs to...
