That's a tough one, right?
I want to say you let that rookie be your #2. But the odds of him getting in if the OL isn't fixed..are HIGH.
I guess you find a Vet on a one year deal. Does Collins want to stay Mark Bulger maybe?
Agreed.
Lets put it this way....if he did a bunch of trading down and had a late 2nd or early 3rd....AND already fill a bunch of OL spots with rookies and FA. I would take a waiver on him.
They were favored when we beat them in the superbowl. I know the NFC had an amazing run. But come on. They could had run better, it would have meant ball control, and less pressure on elway.
For the 1st pick in the 2nd rounder. I might be open minded to this.
But that doesn't mean I automatically take a QB with the 1st. I still check my options.
I don't care what anybody says, its a rebuilding year.
exactly, trading down takes two teams. Unless Vinny goes back to San Fran and gets them to offer both their 1st's and something else for the 4th overall. Its unlikely.

Eagles to cut ties with Westbrook
The Philadelphia Eagles announced Tuesday they will release running back Brian Westbrook.
A news conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET Tuesday to announce the move.
"Brian is one of the greatest Eagles of...
Elway went to superbowls without that OL and running game, and lost....... I think the OL and running game was the difference.
Dilfer won because of that defense, same with Brad Johnson.
Bottom line is this.....John Elway needed Shanny and his Running Game......AND Shanny needed John Elway and his leadership.
But make no mistake. Those superbowls might have been loaded with highlight Elway plays. But the season was on the back of Davis and their blocking scheme. They put Elway...
Long bushy hair in college. When I pledged, it was "Buckwheat". Then when I was done....it was just Wheat.
As far as Buford, that was just created when I was obsessed with Smokey and the Bandit.
agreed.
I'm not saying that its not a crapshoot in other rounds. But I would be MUCH more confortable with OL in the 1st, and QB in the 2nd or 4th with the idea that the very best a rookie QB could do is be the #2. Offer Campbell the one year tender at something like 3.5mil and know with a...
If you take a QB this year, you can't play him before the end of the season at the earlier. Behind an OL that needs this much work, you can't ruin a young player like that.
If you're (the Skins) clear about that, then fine. But even in an uncapped year, you're paying a lot of money to a rookie...
I'm not buying it. The contract for a QB that high is too much for a rookie. Especially on a team that is looking to change direction.
I just don't see how they pass on a OL when its such a huge need.
I'm not going to say Campbell is a world beater. Or even a long term solution.
BUT.....he is the best option for 2010. No rookie or avail vet would be a better choice in my opinion.
I like his character. I like his upside. Even if that upside window is getting smaller.
