I think McDaniel would only be here for one year IF he were to have taken the job. We also would be waiting 2 to 4 weeks to see if he would have got a HC gig somewhere or even taken an OC job somewhere else. It would have left us holding the bag and hiring whatever was left over.
I also think he has to hit on DC, even more so than OC (at least initially). Another bad year on D and he will be in trouble. If he hits on DC it will buy the extra time for Blough to get his feet wet.
