Yeah this point to me is spot on, they knew JD was not fully healthy (not solely talking about the elbow, I think he is still not healed from earlier this year) and called plays based on that. If JD was healthy they would have had an option in there for him to run at the goal line.
If the Giants beat us their fan base will be giddy....for about 2 minutes until they realize they just lost the #1 pick. This game is going to be epic, lol.
A consistently well performing team and organization certainly could though.
We just got embarresd....not for the first time....by a 4 win team going nowhere.
The defense was taken apart by a QB who has struggled mightily all year.
Our franchise QB with a fully healthy slate of weapons couldn't...
If you had said this just one week ago I would have disagreed. The more I have thought about this your 100% right in my opinion. Just to touch on a couple of reasons I have changed my mind on DQ. Everyone bought in after last year, it's increasingly obvious we not only rode the JD magic but also...
I guess the silver lining as to not squeaking into the payoffs and not really having a legit shot is that we get an early jump on the offseason. Player and coaching evals are already starting for us. Gives us a better shot at targeting coaches and players in FA. While already having an eye...
Unfortunately the Giants may have the same mind set going into this game. Maybe a 73 -72 score line as each defense "accidently" misses tackles.
Obvious response to this would be "yeah but we don't need to "accidently" miss tackles, we do it anyway.
All in jest, there are plenty of players...
If JD was 100% healthy I would play him...he needs it. Problem is I don't think he has been healthy the majority of the year. The situation we are in makes it so much more difficult to evaluate him and the rest of the team. Going to be so much doubt heading into the offseason.
Someone said earlier that DQ is all about cliches and platitudes. Its true. That's great when you are consistently winning but just rings hollow otherwise.
