Right now, I'd say you and I think SIP were correct about him. I was in the overoptimistic bucket. Not giving up on him, but if he has an injury not sure if he'll have a chance to really step up.
Yeah, I'm disappointed. I was hoping his quickness would allow him to flash. It's not a good sign especially if he's not standing out against the interior of our line which is supposed to be our weakness.
We’ve all heard the cliches. We’ve all heard that you can’t simulate the speed in practice and that you need to get hit to get used to being hit.
I tend to believe it. There’s a difference between classroom learning and practical learning. I think the intersquad practices mitigate that...
I think the other thing to think about when considering the vanilla conversation is that while schemes differ, every team runs a hook, a post, and a fade. Every team has a dive play and an off tackle run or a sweep. So, there are lots of plays you can run that are plays you want to test out or...
It's funny how critical we are in hindsight. I do remember a lot of us being surprised when Kliff "left" the team. Grading on the curve because of injuries, the offense was not the problem. The offense probably did hold up its end. That said, all of the criticisms of Kliff: unimaginative...
It was crazy how many times we had to call time out during in our "hurry up" to avoid delay of game once teams realized they could slow walk their substitutions. I blame this partly on the refs, but it drove me crazy.
The only thing I wanted to see more of was Stephens' kickoffs. His first one landed in the endzone. I'm guessing they've seen him hit into the zone enough in practice to be comfortable with that aspect. That said, I shouldn't complain for getting what I wanted.
Go rook!
Listening to the Take Command podcast, one of the recurring refrains was that "Oh, I didn't notice that guy because he's down on the depth chart and just isn't getting many reps." They said that about both Gulbin and Henry. I was surprised about Gulbin given the Alegretti injury, but kind of...
I was thinking the same. In fact, on Friday while watching the game I began to wonder if the part of the reason they signed Diggs was because they decided Williams was unable to carry the load.
Nah, the most cynical player is clearly Conn. I mean at first I thought his username was about the state he live in. Then, I realized it was a state of mind thing because no matter what the subject is he always takes the Con position.
(Love ya, Conn)
