(New Poll) The Washington Commanders Brand 2.0: Beer Drinkers and Hail Raisers

I like these. Simple, clean and traditional team colors.

I do like the distinctly D.C. Pentagon tie-in. The design in the middle is cool because there are two D.C. landmarks included. The Spartan helmet is, however, not related to D.C., albeit well executed.

Josh Harris Speaks... Commanders is permanent name.

I get your point. I do think names not inherently specific to a city just become part of the scenery over time and don't get questioned by fans. I'm a bit of a nerd about team names, so I'm particularly sensitive to having a team name that's applicable to the place in which the team is located...

(New Poll) The Washington Commanders Brand 2.0: Beer Drinkers and Hail Raisers

What's irritating to me is that the most obvious and logical tie-in to "Commanders" is one that due to the modern mindset we will most likely never see. George Washington was the first Commander-in-Chief of the United States. The district is named for this man. Yet, because of a prevailing...

Do you think Tuddy is a nod to the older fans? I mean he's sportin' the dad bod.

Josh Harris Speaks... Commanders is permanent name.

I agree. There are native tribes everywhere. One could argue that central Virginia (the "V" in "DMV") was the first place English settlers encountered natives of the continent. Therefore it could be somewhat specific.

In other words, it could be used as a team name in any and every city in the U.S.

Josh Harris Speaks... Commanders is permanent name.

Actually, the Texas Rangers is a decidedly Texas name. Here's a link to some historical information about them: https://www.britannica.com/topic/Texas-Rangers-United-States-military-forces And I think the Angels has reference to Los Angeles (which in Spanish means, "The Angels"). As for...

Josh Harris Speaks... Commanders is permanent name.

We do tend to forget that members of the ownership group do not (and, really, should not) view this situation the way we, the fans, do. While Josh Harris may have grown up a 'Skins fan, his motivating factor is no longer to have a satisfying rooting interest, but rather to enrich his business's...

The Philadelphia Eagles are Public Enemy #1

Ultimately, sports is entertainment. Yes, we develop emotional attachments but what we're really doing is watching other people do their jobs. To get rude (physically or verbally) with opposing fans is not advisable. Self-defense is one thing, but going out of your way to berate or assault...
