    I completely understand the argument that we can't count on him to be anything this coming year. I don't understand the argument that he's not worth a fully unguaranteed contract to see what he could become - IMO that's very low risk and potentially high reward.

    I'm not highly invested in us taking him... my preference would be Tate (unless Bailey falls) I'm just making an observation that high end offensive players get disproportionate attention during mock draft season and seem to get steamed up more than other players. That's just my observation...

    I don't know many of the players you mention, but I agree on Max Klare. I kinda doubt we'd target him with the picks (or lack of...) we have. It'll be interesting to see where all these guys go.

    I'm not gonna promise I'm right, but I think that all the guarantees are gone, so SF would have to eat the accelerated portion of the bonuses that they previously paid him, but we wouldn't be on the hook for anything prior to the dates in the contract.     But couldn't we just cut him? I understand that carries a risk that he doesn't sign with us, but the 'trade' could be contingent on him re-signing with us... This is not me advocating for the trade, although if its just a late round pick swap, that's pretty benign.
