    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Yes, our offensive line is a position of strength and should be rated higher. It’s mystery to me why the national media is low on them and a greater mystery why locals, who should know better, have gone along with that narrative. A look at the numbers and the roster doesn’t really support the...

We got a pick in exchange, so it was really 3 picks. Was it necessary? Pro Bowl LTs don’t come cheap (unless Ron Rivera is trading away Trent Williams that is). By what metric? We were 3rd in the NFL in rushing in 2024 and 4th in the NFL in 2025. We were 18th in the NFL in sacks allowed in...

I don’t really care to argue with a clanker, but I do agree it would be better not to trade away draft picks, so that is a fair criticism of AP. This is especially true on Lattimore, who gave us nothing, and to a lesser extent Deebo, who only gave us one solid year. Tunsil is the exception I...

    The 2026 Free Agency Thread

I just watched the Luck documentary last night, and it crystallized a lot of my thoughts on this, but you raise a fair question: Compared to what? The answer to that question might be a big part of our disconnect on this. You seem to be comparing what we did to what other teams like the...

This is part of my perspective too, I think there’s a good chance we have that unproven WR2 on the roster already. Whether that’s Williams, LMC, Lane, Burks, or Dyami, I could easily see somebody emerging.

skinsinparadise and others have been beating this drum all offseason. I get wanting a proven WR behind Terry, but I completely disagree with the idea we haven’t supported Jayden. To give some context of what not supporting a quarterback really looks like, check out this new documentary about...

I would have welcomed Deebo back, he was a class act through last year’s adversity and ended up our leading receiver. I wish him well.

The assortment is different too. Swapped Noah Brown for Dyami Brown, got Luke McCaffery back from injury, and added Van Jefferson.

If Dyami can play like he did in the 2024 postseason, that would be great. Sounds like he is putting in the effort, working out with Jayden in the offseason and the first one on the field today.

JP Finlay is blogging from camp. He thought they looked good on day 1. https://jpfinlay.substack.com/p/training-camp-day-1-good-day-for https://substack.com/home/post/p-209170394 Other reports suggest the offense struggled today. Terry McLaurin said something to that effect in an interview.

I agree with you about JCM, but I think you mean Jeremy McNichols not JD McKissic.

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

I’m speculating, but I suspect this team has especially low tolerance for any kind of PR problems. I remember thinking this when they released Brandon McManus, and maybe that’s why we haven’t signed Diggs. This might be a wise policy given the need to repair the franchise’s reputation after the...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

I’m not sure I agree with this. I’ll grant Kaytron Allen lacks blazing speed and can be a bit of a bruiser, but BRob is the wrong comparison. If you watch Allen’s tape you will see his greatest strength is the way he finds holes and follows blocks, call it vision and patience. I don’t think BRob...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

I agree with this. Bill has great speed, agility, and a lot of heart, but I also remember him missing holes or not following blocks well, so his vision could be better. That plus his fumbles, as well as questionable pass pro and receiving ability, could limit him unless he improves.

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

It’s too bad about the tight end coach, I saw an interview with him and liked him, but I think the team takes personal conduct and PR stuff very seriously after all the scandals associated with the old owner’s tenure.

What does success look like in 2026?

Yes, that’s my thinking, our fate is tied to Jayden’s health and development, so that’s the key. I disagree about asking him not to run the ball. Scrambling probably does put him at greater risk for injury, but that’s just part and parcel of drafting a running quarterback, and running to...

What does success look like in 2026?

If Jayden stays healthy, learns to play under center, and plays at or above the level of his rookie year, then I will call that success, because that will prove he is not just another RG3, and we really do have our franchise quarterback. As for wins and losses, I’m not expecting much given how...

    The Jayden Daniels Tracker

Fair enough, it does depend on the nature of the injury. But I do think we’re very cautious with him. He didn’t play in preseason, he probably could have come back from his early season injuries before he did, and the decision to try bringing him back from the elbow late in the year was...
