The All Things Offensive Line Thread

I figured this was the plan. That’s what people who really follow the team were saying yesterday, I had to laugh at the national media types who thought it would be Wylie. Washington fans tend to know their stuff about the offensive line, it is a big part of our legacy.

One good thing about Coleman is he’s played basically every position on the line except C in college, but if they really wanted to try Conerly at LT, another option would be to put Wylie at RT and keep Coleman where he is. So it’s not a crazy idea. That said, I think the current plan to put...

The All Things Offensive Line Thread

Too soon? Believe me, I’m as bummed as anybody about Tunsil. I know we just lost one of our very few blue chip players, and it really seems that’s the kind of luck we have. That said, we still have a season ahead of us, and people are discussing the offensive line in multiple places, so I...

The All Things Offensive Line Thread

Losing Tunsil is a huge blow, no doubt we are a worse team for it, but they’re not going to cancel the season for us. A sliver of good luck is that we have enough young prospects and depth pieces to cobble together an okay line. ESPN has Wylie listed at LT right now with Coleman as the backup...

The All Things Offensive Line Thread

The offensive line is suddenly a major topic with Tunsil’s injury, and when I searched it up I didn’t see anything but the “All Things Offense” thread and older threads, so I’m presenting the offensive line thread. Please feel free to discuss anything related to the offensive line here. A few...

Don’t know anything about him, but we should bring in somebody somehow. I like having Conerly, Coleman, and Wylie as options, but we need another body behind them now.

Coleman proved to be an adequate LT in 2024, and Conerly is a first round pick who played LT in college, so I could see either of them filling in for Tunsil. Maybe we’ll even get lucky and have one of them prove to be our future starter. What would surprise me is if they stick with Wylie at LT...

I know every team has injuries, but it sure feels like we have especially bad luck.

Agreed, he is one of our few blue chip players at a vital position, just horrible luck. A slight silver lining is that we have a good enough roster that we have passable backup options, but no doubt this makes us a worse team.

Horrible luck on Tunsil’s injury. We lost one of our best players before he took a snap on his new contract. I hate that this kind of thing keeps happening to us. The good news is we have options to replace him and remain serviceable. We can make it work by shuffling around some combo of Wylie...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

For what it’s worth, Conerly mostly played LT in college, Coleman played every OL position but C, so we should have some depth and flexibility there. My concern is their development, and I would think letting them focus on one position would be better for that, but I’m only speculating...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

Maybe Coleman at LT since he played there in 2024, let Conerly keep developing at RT. We have good depth at least, but Tunsil would be such a huge loss. He’s one of the best in the business. Tunsil has some history of minor injuries and receiving rest during camp without it impacting his...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

I hope you’re wrong, especially given how much we’ve invested in the unit in the last few years. Tunsil is the second highest paid player on the team and cost us multiple draft picks. Conerly was a first round pick. Coleman was a high third round pick who we’ve been developing on the field for...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

All off season, we’ve been hoping LMC takes the next step and JCM improves in the passing game, so it’s great to see all these reports about both those things happening. Hopefully that progress shows up on game day.

Good article, realistic about Jayden’s sophomore slump but optimistic about his future. Thanks for sharing.

I’m surprised this hasn’t come up, but apparently Zach Ertz is trying to make a comeback. Here he is working out with his Stanford teammate Andrew Luck: I assumed Ertz’s career was over after the injury last season, and it probably is time to move on at 35 years old, but I will be rooting for...

    2026 Commanders Training Camp

I agree this is the strongest roster we’ve had in a long time. One of the podcasters was talking about this yesterday, maybe Grant and Danny. There is good competition/depth at most positions, and we’re going to cut or practice squad some pretty good talent. Desean Jackson was the first guy I...
