Good post and I agree. I'm big on Chig, I love how he can take some of the pressure off the receivers by providing bigger plays. But 3rd and 6 is what wins or loses games and Ertz was money there, not sure who they will have who can match his production.
He was in 2024. Of course I don't consider him at that level, just showing how a great QB can make average receivers work where a bad corner will be target by the opponent every week.
What if Amos goes down? He is a 2nd year player who missed time last season and he is considered our only legit corner. I'm not sure I buy the theory that Jones does not require good corners. Sure it worked with the Vikes, but they had far better front 7 people than this team has, there is no...
You make a lot of solid points. I'll counter by pointing out that you really can't hide a below average corner. At WR we have seen Jayden elevate below average receivers. We have seen Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady do the same. So if that's the choice, and with so many holes they had to have...
Well stated and my feelings exactly regarding corner. I keep reading that our DC does not rely on good corner play. I find that hard to believe, life sucks in the NFL if you don't have good corners.
AP still had a responsibility to the rest of the roster. Personally I'm glad he's not paying Pierce what he ended up getting. It's not like he didn't try but irresponsible spending is never the answer. Most really want Diggs signed. What if he is demanding 2 for 60 or something crazy like...
C Rod's "explosiveness" figures also include that breakaway 30 yard run (I'm guessing on the length) that was through a hole so big Ben Sinnott would have scored on that play.
I was in this group, although worship is way too strong a word. My confidence has faded after all those misses in the 2024 draft but I am still a firm believer in AP.
Oh I definitely remember the posts about AP and even one or 2 about Harris, made out of frustration as the losses piled up. But they were rare, I saw nobody worshipping AP or even calling him a top GM.
With all due respect I have seen no posters who have these extreme views on AP. Most everyone is still in wait and see mode with some being more confident than others.
I still hate this schedule. Who wants to be 1-6 on November 1st? Because that's very possible, they will be underdogs in 6 of those games. It kills the excitement for the season as they spend the rest of the year trying to play catch up.
Yeah I was surprised as well. The Wiz have been in the lottery 25 times and only moved up 3 times before this week. What a change.
As for the team I watched a bit last year, after checking out years ago, and didn't see anyone on this team that I felt could develop into a real difference...
As someone who used to have a big garden I'm enjoying this thread. My garden got blight, pretty sure was from the manure I got from a friend who had horses. I moved it and made is smaller but it still struggled. So now I grow an awesome variety of cherry tomatoes from 2 hanging baskets and...
I don't think your concern will come into play. By the time the official pulls the 2nd flag the players involved are either in the end zone or 10 yards behind the play. I like the buzzer idea for the play clock, we don't need any more reviews.
