    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I think Conerly probably gets you a 1st back given he has 4 years of a rookie deal left and looked promising as a rookie tackle playing a new position. But they’d never trade him

Unless they want him playing odd front DE and even front DT, I don’t see the fit. They are likely looking at Woods or Banks with their second if they are retaining that pick

I'm good with Diggs and Allen too. Just forgot about them. My point is, if they don't take WR in the 1st, they need to bring in a proven starting caliber receiver whether it be Jennings, Diggs or Allen

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

This is a big reason I am so meh about it. A 1st, 2 2nds, a 3rd and a 4th is my count since 2023. Adding another 1st to it, especially a high first, feels so bleh for a room that wouldn’t even be the best in the division

I think AP needs to find a way to sign Jennings if we don’t take a receiver at 71

I would be disappointed with Sarratt too honestly. I want a safety/nickel but think that’s unlikely if they take Delane.

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I think I’m going to be fairly disappointed in this draft. Delane is going to be a very good corner but the 3rd best corner in the division and we’ll take a 3rd round receiver like Hurst who odds are won’t do much as a rookie

If they stick at #7, I’d be surprised at this point if Delane isn’t the pick. I think their board is 1) Love 2) Styles 3) Delane #1 and #2 will be gone. As Conn likes to point out, thank you DQ for that useless win at the end of the season

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 2

It’s one guy’s opinion (Zierlein) but one thing I’ve enjoyed doing is going on NFL.com and comparing his grades for individual players and position groups in this class vs prior classes (all the data is there) At TE, he gave 12 guys last year a 6.0+ grade and 14 guys this year a 6.0+ grade...

This is where I am. I am super confident we can get a day 1 starting nickel/safety at 71 if we stick and pick.

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 3

The Dolphins and Jaguars both have a lot of draft capital starting in the 3rd. 71 would be a good spot to trade back a bit from. Unfortunately, I have a feeling they will stick and pick and take a WR like Hurst there

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 3

I don't know if it matters here but Linderbaum is an ace at run blocking but meh as a pass blocker. Maybe they are generally fine with that out of the center position. Given he knows him so well and because they have so many Day 3 picks, I bet Liam Coen has Gladstone zeroing in on him

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 3

Jager Burton seems like an interesting prospect to look at rounds 5 & 6. 9.9 RAS, started 4 years at Kentucky and played for Liam Coen for a couple seasons so he has pro style WCO type experience. He floated between guard and center during his time there and settled in full time at center his...

    The 2026 Draft Thread - Day 3

skinsinparadise Have you looked at safety/nickel types who may be around in the 5th, 6th or 7th? Seems like it is not likely at 71 given the folks they are speaking with

The guy tore his ACL in January 2025, started doing individual drills in August 2025 and then had a good pro day (I understand he didn’t do agility drills). Maybe there is some concern about his knee beyond the standard ACL recovery but, if there is, we don’t know whether it’s real or fake worry

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

I don’t think the Saints have a desperate need for him. Even with Taylor leaving, they have two promising young outside corners in Kool Aid and Quincy Riley. Delane being neck and neck with McCoy as a prospect also hurts his trade up value

Yep the functional translation of this is taking Bates’s replacement in round 5. Bates has a $11M cap hit in 2027 for reference

Yep. I hate to say it but SoFL could use more traffic and highway cops. Lot of jackasses driving like complete clowns there

I generally agree with sticking and picking in the top 10 in a vacuum but I am with SIP on this one. As long as they are not passing on Love or Bailey, I don’t care if they move back a few picks.

    The 2026 Draft Thread - 1st Round - 7th overall

If NFL GMs shared your philosophy, we would never see them trade back in the draft. The take lacks nuance. Let's say they don't particularly like Tate but they like both Lemon and Cooper and have them very close to one another on their board. If one guy gets taken, they can go draft the other so...
