I just realized there may be an existential meaning to the alternate helmet logo...
...could it be they're showing that they want to "stick a fork (or in this case a spear) in the W logo"? Are they foreshadowing the eventual demise of the W logo?
I really need to get to bed.
I wonder how Tanya Snyder is feeling this morning. After all, her "fashion expertise" was overruled and tossed onto the trash heap.
Never mind, I don't give a toss how she feels this morning...
Very true, as long as they don't add a feather to the spear no one should complain (although I wouldn't). Of course, one could say that AK-47s are universal weapons that exist across cultures too. ;)
Right, Snyder got lucky and hit the jackpot during the dotcom era of the 90s. Like a lot of people who got rich during that time, it didn't really require any special skill... right place, right time...which has happened far more throughout human history than we want to admit.
His only skill...
Technically they called him SIR.
And they can't use Generals because that's the basketball team that the Harlem Globetrotters opens a can of whup-ass on every night.
Plus Snyder picked Commanders because he wouldn't have to pay for swiping the name of a defunct team...the San Antonio Commanders. If he picked Redwolves then he was too cheap to get involved with litigation with some college I heard...which is really dumb because the Carolina Panthers haven't...
They won't ever change to anything that makes people think of the colonial days or George Washington because not everyone who lived in that era was treated equally. I don't really think teams should be named after people since people are flawed and there's always going to be a significant number...
I've wondered the same thing, about everything being a troll job. It's hard to believe people can be so incompetent, which is why the trolling seems to make more sense.
What made it worse was that Wright tried to defend it instead of immediately admitting the error. I've heard McKinsey trains people to never admit to mistakes, so that's not surprising.
Everything Jason Wright touched turned to sh*t, so it's not surprising that the effed up the name too. Bland, boring, with no real connection to DC...just having a miitary rank as the name doesn't mean squat.
Who can forget Porta-pottygate? Or Sean Taylor Wire Statuegate? Or the incorrect years...
