Agree with Keim here, that's why most of my posts have been looking ahead to the waiver wire although I really wouldn't mind it if we traded a position of depth for someone else's position of depth. Not sure if one of our backup receivers is worth a good back up centers, for instance, but receivers are more valued than centers usually... so maybe?
 
I think they're going to see who's released, and bring somebody in at the bare minimum.

I also think a trade is not off the table. It might be a player swap. It might be a low to mid round pick.

I would be willing to bet we won't go into the season with Allegretti, JGG and Gublin as the options at center.
 
To be fair, on the Jayden Daniels sack wasn't the primary issue that both Tight Ends missed their assignments on the overload blitz? One of them was John Bates who has years of service as a premier blocking TE that to me at least suggests this was rust or a mistake and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he will clean that up once the regular season starts. I am not sure who the other TE on the play was to know how they are overall at blocking but we also have to remember this is a new offense for everyone on the team not just Jayden & the skill position players. Even if you are comfortable with the personnel there is going to be a learning curve and some growing pains along the way.

Looks like he said he’d take a call from us on Twitch. Overlapped with Blough in 2023 in Detroit.

That being said, Allegretti is probably a better starting option. Glasgow was one of the league’s worst centers last year per PFF.

The smarter play here may be to wait until cutdown day. If no one better gets cut, sign Glasgow to the practice squad and give him a few weeks to ramp before signing him to the active roster.

My guess is there will be guys to consider such as Seth McLaughlin (2024 Rimington winner) from Detroit and Jake Andrews from Houston (started at C for them last year). Both guys are competent but will struggle to anchor.

EDIT: Either Cushenberry or Van Pran Granger will bite the dust in Buffalo. Either guy is tempting

I am very interested to see if Boutte can create any kind of a relationship with Stroud that he had with Maye. If so, they can keep the rights to him for next season as well as this year.

Texans were pretty loaded with receivers. Now a couple of injuries and they made a move quickly. I think AP would have still been playing rock-paper-scissors trying to make a decision on what to do.
 
Good-Jones -- this years version of Chris Moore? We love our backups and we are riding with what we got until the bitter end.
