I heard DQ’s comments about the first quarter D may be pointed at Newton.

That first quarter does point to a potential major issue with the defense, and first quarters in preseason are the main indicators of anything useful for projecting. It should be a big concern in general, depending on the factors. Bad news Newton was out there and looked bad.
