Conerly was a first round pick. Coleman was a high third round pick who we’ve been developing on the field for two seasons now. Cosmi was a second round pick. I will also add that this team has been one of the top rushing teams in the league the last two years and was top 10 in fewest sacks allowed last year, so the line might be better than folks are saying.

Every ranking I saw had them at #20 or higher, and that was before the Tunsil injury.

The rushing yards are a function of Jayden Daniels and to some extent the lack of sacks are too as he escaped plenty of sacks, It's not a reflection of the offensive line.
 
I pick up some skpeticism about whether Saintristil is really struggiling because Josh Taylor is a just a dude like us, and hey he's no expert. Maybe so. I get it. But I'll add some more to that pile for whatever its worth, maybe nothing. Another fan had a similar observation.

and Grant Paulsen brought it up on the podcast today, saying he's struggled.

Logan didn't straight up disagree with the point but his pushback was sometimes defenders gets exposed depending on what plays the offense is running so it might be putting him on the spot more so than usual.
 
Logan is the podcast also thought Decker would be an improvement at LT, he liked what he saw from him last year.

He thinks losing Tunsil is a game changer. I know duh. But interesting hearing it from him since he's so positive generally.

He rewatched Coleman. On 2nd watch he didn't care too much for his 2024 play. But he liked his 2025 play when rewatching that. Likes him as a pass protector, inconsistent as a run blocker.

Llkes the idea of signing Decker and keeping Coleman at LG -- part;y because he likes to have two athletic O lineman to help protect Allegretti.

How can that be? Jayden hardly played last year and honestly, when he did, he was far less effective at running.

Coleman is better today than he was in 2024. More experience, assuming better NFL body type after 2 years and a year working with Tunsil. I think Coleman will be ok and continue to get better especially with another month of TC and preseason to go. Tunsil getting injured early August allowing Coleman time to get used to the idea.... if looking for a bit of a "bright side" of the situation.

That seems like it should be true but isn’t. Jayden only finished 4 games last year, but the team improved from 18th to 8th in allowing the fewest sacks, and still ended the year 4th in the league in rushing.

Now maybe Tunsil was a big part of the improvement in sacks, that’s a huge loss.

Along with the Tunsil loss, the other real shame is that it sounded like Coleman was doing very well and winning the LG battle. It would have been sweet to see the full compliment of planned starters in action with him at LG.

They have brought a few other G's and C's in to compete, will be interesting to see if any stand out.

At the end of the day, Decker as an option for LT will not last long so they will need to make some quick evals on the OL.

All of that while of course trying to solve the defensive backfields woes
 
My worry is now LG. With Chris Paul seemingly the lock to start, our run game might sputter again. Can't move Wylie to Guard as he's forced to be the primary backup OT now.

Looks like addition of Diggs sent Burks down a tier instead of McCaffrey.

Just about everything is as we expected. Well except the FS spot. Will Harris isn't even listed there despite beat guys saying he's often 2nd team and Quan is looking like he won't make the team.

Reaves is ok, but he's basically a Reed Doughty.
 
According to Quinn, Amos landed on his ankle badly. They were just holding him out as a precaution.

You should look again. Will Harris is listed as 2nd string SS

Also, the safeties are expected to be interchangeable on the field. SS becomes FS and FS to SS depending on the read.
