The 1st Round Pick
As much as I would love to have Decker, I don't think it's a realistic want. If Decker wants a minimum 2 year contract and $25+M per year while we just signed the leagues highest paid OL to sit the bench, we'd be better off letting Brandon and Josh hold down the position. What we do need however is solid depth behind them. Find me a $6-8M spot starter and sign him today. Leave Wylie at guard and we realistically only have T. Scott as depth. Now, if Decker would take a 1 year contract in the $15-20M range I'd feel differently, but again probably not realistic.
I had not heard Decker was looking for that much, only heard that he asked for release when Detroit wanted him to take a pay cut on $15M 2026 salary, was otherwise fine playing on that contract. After 2025 decline and at his age I'm not sure why he'd think a raise/multiyear is in the books, doesn't make much sense.
