I had not heard Decker was looking for that much, only heard that he asked for release when Detroit wanted him to take a pay cut on $15M 2026 salary, was otherwise fine playing on that contract. After 2025 decline and at his age I'm not sure why he'd think a raise/multiyear is in the books, doesn't make much sense.

I believe you are correct. I thought I read someones tweet expecting him to be in the $20M+ range, but now I'm seeing more interweb stuff stating he should be in the $10M range. I'll try to update my posts. Thank you
 
I don’t have a problem bringing in anybody to help at LT. But I’d really like to see is give Coleman and/or Conerly a shot first and make sure that doesn’t work before panicking too much.

Granted, this might be the time to panic in some way.

I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was either Socrates or Mark Twain who said "If you have too many starting caliber tackles, you don't have quite enough."

Starting caliber LTs (especially with familiarity in your system) don’t grow on trees. If they want him, it should happen very quickly. Once pre-season games start, injuries will more than likely increase across the league and then you might have competition for his services.

Sup gents, been awhile… hope all are well!

Hopefully we do just this VoR. I wasn’t a fan of the Tunsil trade, and though I love the player, rather we build thru the draft and kept the picks…

So selfishly, I’m rooting to see how our young guys develop, especially Coleman. I think he has the tools to become a good LT / RT if developed properly, so I’m glad he’s getting another opportunity.

And Im praying for Tunsil to make a full speedy recovery!
 
If he has hope of returning at any point in the season, they'll put him on IR but designate him as eligible to return.

I thought the eligible to return thing went away and you had to be on the roster for one day before being moved to IR….

And you’re right! They recently changed the rule.

You can designate 2 players to IR for final roster cutdowns as eligible to return and they don’t have to be on the active roster. They don’t technically have to do anything with Tunsil now, though what’s unclear is if they can move him to IR early and clear a roster spot. Worst case he’d have to stay active until final cutdowns then they could place him on IR and designate him to return. Which they will do no matter what.

However during the regular season, you don’t have to designate a player to return when you put them on IR. The team has 8 returns they can use on anybody, they just open the 21 day practice window.

Well, I learned something today.
 
With Tunsil likely out most of the season (I am going to assume the entire season unless a playoff berth is up for grabs going into the final few weeks) is it plausible even if they like Brandon Coleman in the LT role they will look to sign a quality vet for depth & rotation purposes just to not cause a total shift in the depth chart as far as who they see as capable to sub in there over the course of an entire season?

Me being me, I'm going to wait until we get the doctor's report. I'm not sure how good the equipment is at the facility. I am preparing for the worst, but maybe an MRI reveals the tear not as bad as feared or something else entirely.
 
if not decker, I think they re-sign someone like coluc for added depth.
