2026 Injury Updates

No shade thrown, but just seeing this thread created made me feel like we were daring fate. I hate this news

Awful news. Taylor Decker and Cam Robinson are available. Would be worth the investment to keep the season from going off the rails before it even starts. Coleman / Wylie can't be trusted for the long haul.

Bad juju, that's for sure. Never make a thread like this again. Ever.

He gone for most of the year. Move Conerly to LT lets see what he can do. This will probably be a bad year with the schudule

We already don't have a viable center because of AP's nonsense, now we don't have a LT while trying to install a new offense? LMAO....

Here we go 😡

Sucks. Losing Tunsil to what's sort of a freak injury - it's bad luck. These things happen to most teams (losing a key player prior to seasons start is a fairly regular occurrence). I don't think it's an outright disaster because Coleman has shown he is a serviceable LT, but obviously it's not good news. Not a damned thing we can do about it except cross our fingers and hope for the best.

The good news: this injury happened early enough that we have time to make adjustments and bring in a few guys if need be. Brandon Coleman played LT in 2024 and did a pretty solid job as a ROOKIE. Now he’s got another year of experience at the NFL level. Just imagine how much better he will be. Additionally, word on the street is that he has a great relationship with Tunsil, who will be with him in the film room, and probably on sideline being a mentor. All is not lost.

It’s a blow but not insurmountable. We have options in-house and there are guys out there still in FA. None are at Tunsil’s level for sure. However the oft quoted Bears offensive line got by just fine last season running a similar scheme as we project to run this year. At LT they featured a conveyor belt of guys before settling on a rookie late in the season.

My main issue with this prediction is at OL Coach. I think they had an older established OL coach. We have someone who never did it before.

My concern, frankly, is there primarily with our OL. AP should be fired if he never called the Eagles old OL Coach, given the difference in proven ability. I just don't see how our guy can be considered reliable with the lack of track record, by comparison. It seems most of the best OLs from last year had proven commodities leading, which probably shouldn't be a surprise.

If I recall correctly, we had our offensive staff in place before the Eagles let their guy go.

To put it frankly, Bloughs scheme and the Eagles OL Coach (Stoutland) preferences do not mix well. Eagles almost never did Motion because the OL Coach demanded that. It was a Shotgun heavy QB alignment, and Blough wants to do much more Under Center than Stoutland would like.

Also Stoutland is I believe...retired.

I didn't know that - did Stoutland prefer the shotgun heavy alignment? Are you sure? If so, then definitely not a fit. I know he was unhappy with "changes" they made last year and a lot of things that "didn't work" according to him. I read some of his quotes for sure. I know he said he was likely taking a year off, which is why I didn't say AP should have hired him, only called/inquired. I really wanted that box checked, having a proven OL Coach this year, who had success. Especialy with a green OC. It would have been a huge help, potentially. We'll see though.

If I recall correctly, we had our offensive staff in place before the Eagles let their guy go.
I know. I guess it may not have been doable in that sense, maybe they were already working on things. That is one position, though, where I absolutely wanted someone proven, and Stoutland has the resume at least.
The Eagles didn't let him go. He walked, with a lot of irritation at Nick as well, as far as I understand.

* Going into this season, I am very hopeful we see the eventual decay of the strength of the Eagles OL. Very hopeful.

Amazingly, I’m more concerned about Amos.

As we’ve outlined, there are fixes to the LT problem on and off the roster.

CB is terrifying. Not having Amos makes that room both lack depth AND top end starters.
