2026 Commanders Training Camp

I'm pulling for Stephens just because he has the bigger leg and I want a kicker to work out that we could lock in for seven years. Sounds like Moody is doing very well. I don't know given his history that he is more or less likely to be consistent in real games.

I think both kickers are good prospects. Moody was drafted high for a reason and kicked well for us last year. Stephens has a big leg, and you really expect your kicker to have that range at this level, though Moody’s range is better than people think. Reports are both are doing well in camp, and they’re both young, so I figure the winner of the kicking competition could finally provide some long term stability at the position. Here’s hoping.

Positive mentions for a lot of the defense, while also having some positives for the offense too?

That sounds like a pretty good day.

But seriously, it does make it seem like the DT's lost to the IOL today, while the blocking assignments from the whole OL were a little confused by the Daronte Jones scheme. Which is exactly what we want to hear. Not every opponent is going to be like that.

Any mentions on Antonio Williams (besides the trick play)? At least Terry flashing with Jayden is fantastic. Terry is now in a scheme that isn't hard mode for WR1. I'm sorry, but I hated the Kliff offense once it was clear Jayden understood enough of what was happening. Terry was hindered.

Love that Bill and Williams are continuing to get good mentions. How about Lane and Yankoff entering the fray, nice to see!

I have to laugh at the kicker 'competition' - because we all know what will happen. One of these two guys is going to look like a world beater future kicking star and win the job outright. Then we'll get to the season opener and watch the winner of the 'competition' shank one, hit the upright, and miss a 37 yarder. It's just how these things go.

So yeah, we talkin' about practice lol...

You forgot the part where the loser of the kicking competition signs elsewhere and makes his first 15 kicks straight

Just left the practice facility after the 4th session in front of the media. Some thoughts.

🏈 1st day with pads. Always ramps up the intensity and makes for a fun day.

🏈 Sonny Styles was a monster today. By far his most noticeable practice. He was awesome against the run. Super physical coming downhill. Blew up Bill at the goal line on the first rep of 11's with pads on.

🏈 Jayden Daniels had his best day in terms of accuracy and ball placement. He threw a perfect fade to McLaurin over Sainristil in the low redzone. He throws that route so well and McLaurin is also one of the best at getting his feet in bounds in the back of the endzone.

🏈 Daniels had a elite play for a TD where he was moving to his right and threw Chig open. Chig was well-covered by Witherspoon and Jayden threw a fastball low and beside both of them. Chig fell to his side and caught the pass. All Daniels. Threw him open. Just a crazy special play.

🏈 Javon Kinlaw had a sack (more of a coverage sack) of Jayden Daniels in 11s. That was good to see just because of how deep in the backfield he had penetrated. Didn't see a lot of that last season.

🏈 Colson Yankoff makes super athletic catches frequently. Played QB in past, played some RB at UCLA. He's a fun TE project. He made an awesome diving grab in the back of the endzone that was ruled out of bounds by the side judge.

🏈 They are using Bill in space a ton. He catches a lot of balls in the flat. He's looked capable as a pass-catcher. Soft hands.

🏈K'Lavon Chaisson was the most physical defender today. He basically was in September form. He knocked Bill to the ground on one play. He also had a hit on Chig Okonkwo that didn't look like an "August 3rd football play."

🏈 Antonio Williams is shifty and light on his feet. I can see why Peters and the staff loved him. I think he's got a chance to be really good.

🏈 Kicking battle continues. Both kickers were 6/6 today with a long of 55.

I loved all the reports I saw today and this is nice recap. Wish I had scrolled one line further so I wouldn’t have clicked the link but that’s my own impatience 🤦‍♂️.

Good to hear both sides of the ball having their moments and going back and forth. And all the reports of high energy and intensity. It’s early but sure sounds different than last year.

If Styles is good right away and turns into a legit star, man we need that so badly. I have a lot of faith in the floor being raised in free agency but the defense needs a stud *somewhere*. Please let it be.

The other one that stands out to me is the blurbs I’ve seen about Bill. I was taking the comments from the coaching staff about him needing to work on the passing game more ominously. Maybe it’s making a clear objective, maybe it’s putting him on notice, maybe it’s both…doesn’t matter but if he actually becomes a contributor in that area, the RB room should be just fine. I like him as a runner and think his vision is fine, but he can’t be a weak spot in the pass game if he wants more than a handful of carries a game.

Loving these reports today. Let’s keep it up, we all need a real season this year.

I think Styles is the player we are most excited about. I just wanted to come out of that draft with a star, I didn't care which position. But his position can be more impactful than a safety for instance and I hope they landed the star this defense really needed. Perhaps we can actually entertain the thought of our defense creating turnovers.

Yeah, for so many years our front office would bypass the obvious blue-chip college player because they wanted to get cute and go "outside the box." Instead of taking guys like Olave, Cooper DeJean, Kyle Hamilton, Derwin James, Christian Darrisaw, or Christian Gonzalez, they'd convince themselves they were smarter than the consensus. Unfortunately, the joke usually ended up being on them.

Styles, on the other hand, was the easy consensus pick at No. 7—a freak athlete who got dramatically better as last season went on and is widely regarded as a 10-out-of-10 guy in terms of character and intangibles. It was refreshing to see Washington simply make the pick that most teams would have made.

And so far, all the reports have been encouraging.

Didn't hear about an injury? Curious for info here

Hoping its a vet rest day... But Quinn did say there would be less of that.

yeah, this came out 30 seconds after i shared another post saying it wouldn't happen... lol that didnt age well
