I think this is brilliant. Imagine all the defensive players pausing just a beat to smile for the camera. It's sneaky as hell.
 
On a serious level, I could see the camera used for film study or as data to help program his VR routines.

Maybe Chig and Chaisson? Also could be a spend with strings where it has to be a major impact player otherwise, no. But I got no idea, just spitballing.

I like their chances of matching the 2024 WR crew. Antonio matching Zaccheus. Noah wasn't that great in 2024, more of a low end #3 than a #2, and yeah I think their WR by committee can duplicate Noah's production in combination.

Now, do i think the 2024 Wr corp round 2 takes them to a SB? Nope. But its good enough to be competitive because of Jayden.

Yeah, my mind went to Okonkwo first, but that was like 8 mil guaranteed. Could be right about major impact player. Does Diggs fit that? Can’t say I know the answer.

There’s a small part of me that wonders if Peters is keeping the cash (in part) in case a trade opens up (a man can dream, haha)

Fair points. I see an avenue to a SB if the pass production is similar to ‘24, but with a significantly better defense, hopefully better oline, and leaning into the ground game.

Personally, for various reasons, my expectations are way below that, lol. I’m hoping for a winning record and to show enough growth to keep the staff in place.

I think the road to the Super Bowl is a steep uphill climb. Even if we filled the WR2 with Aiyuk, BJT, or Justin Jefferson, we've got two new coordinators. They need to find their sea legs as much as the players do. That said, if Daronté Jones can make this defensive middle of the road and Jayden can get 3/4s of the 2024 offensive production I can imagine a deep playoff run.

The fun/scary part of this season is that we have a similar margin for success/failure. If things align, we could be good pretty quick. If there are growing pains, at least the first half of the season will be one in which gameday threads will require adult beverages.

NE strong with avoiding error and if I recall also had the best seperation numbers among WRs.

Statistics are always interesting, because "receiver error" and "separation" can also be related heavily to scheme and even QB play; looking off the coverage (QB), solid schemes with well executed fakes (QB/scheme), even under-center looks which can cause increased LB hesitation and in some cases from what I've heard, increase the potential of an open middle (scheme).

Usually you need a combination of statistics to tell a better and more complete story, but most of the twitter guys cherry-pick to show something they already believe or a story they want to spin.

I like the style of offense I’m seeing described: more run heavy with lots of motion, play action, and bootlegs.

I think we have the personnel for it, but I believe it will be new for Jayden. I don’t think he’s ever really operated under center, so there is likely to be a learning curve. I noticed they were doing some drop back drills where he had to turn his back to the defense on play action, for example.

So I guess the question is how will Jayden adapt to this new system?
 
I guess you guys have never really run in boots? They are a pain in the ass!

Jayden has done plenty of snaps under center.

He just did more snaps in the shotgun.

But working under center won't be something new and unknown for him.

He'll be fine.

'Plenty' is a loaded word. We're about to find out if it was 'plenty' or not.... but I don't think most would agree that he has done a lot of it, at least recently. When he was at Arizona State, they ran a lot of plays from under center, but at LSU with Brian Kelly it was almost exclusively shotgun and pistol formation. And as we all know, it was very rare for Kliff to have him under center (I'm seeing less than 5% of the time when I try and research it).

I have no doubt Jayden can get very good at doing whatever they ask him to do. But I think it's safe to say he will have a lot of work to do to get as comfortable under center as he has been from the shotgun.

What I want to know is whether he is setting the protections and if he has the freedom to audible. Once Jayden can run this offense effectively from under center with the freedom to audible things will get very interesting.

Might be a loaded word, but an accurate one.

Jayden has done more in the shotgun, but he has done a lot of under center plays in his career starting back in college.

Yet, folks are laughingly carrying on like being under center is going to be something completely alien to Daniels. Like they are asking him to learn Klingon or something.

I don't think it's going to be a problem. The amount of times he'll be under center now will be different for him, yes, but not a problem.

“Plenty” is the wrong word, as this is certainly not Jayden’s usual modus operandi. Only 32 of his 1,467 NFL snaps were taken from under center, that’s not even 5%.

His college experience doing so was also limited. Brian Kelly ran a pure spread offense at LSU, I’m not sure if he took any snaps under center there. Even at ASU, he was only under center maybe 20-30% of the time.

So realistically, he has taken fewer than 50 live snaps from under center in the last 5 years, and he didn’t do it much before that. I’m not saying JD will be unable to function in a different offense the way RG3 was—I actually expect him to be a better student—but I do think he will need some practice, and I would expect there to be a learning curve.

I wonder if even that number is inflated due to Goal line and victory formation snaps. But JD is a pretty bright guy, I'm sure he'll master it. Continuity at C would help a lot as well.
 
I think you guys are overreacting about the shotgun versus under center snaps. He will be fine
