Covering the Commanders: Keim and Company Discussion

Well, God gave men two heads...but only enough blood to run one at a time...
I would prefer to bleed out than touch her...I just have different tastes, Latinas with long black hair and BBBB.

Not covering the Commanders directly, but this story exploded over the last couple of days

I'm not sure how hard you need to investigate this.

It's like the couple which got caught on the kiss cam at the Coldplay concert.

Unless there is another explanation for the photographs, they got caught cheating.

I'm not sure what another explanation could be.

If she's an NFL reporter and screwing a head coach, that's definitely not a good look and not ethical (at the very, very least).

What I do find unfortunate, is if true, Vrabel is as much to blame for the affair as she is. She will probably lose her job. He won't. That's not fair. I get that the world isn't fair, but he should be held accountable also for making the very poor decision to sleep with a reporter covering the league.

The whole thing is just unfortunate. Bad decisions.

Rumors have been flying about her for years. Not only McLoughan, but apparently both her and Britt McHenry were banging McVay

It wouldn't be surprising but I would have hoped McVay would have had better taste, ethics and morals....

I mean, maybe he developed better taste.

I don't believe, short of criminal activity, that personal behavior should impact someone's job. Maybe there are exceptions - but this isn't a Supreme Court Justice sleeping with one of the attorneys in a big case. Is someone at the Athletic losing sleep that there will be too many fluff pieces on Vrabel because he's banging a female reporter?

They're both married. They will both have havoc wrought in their relationships because they got caught. That seems to me to be enough punishment without firing people. And we still live in a pretty misogynistic society - the NFL being one of the biggest examples. One thing I've noticed is that the outraged articles written on this topic always include scantily clad photos of Russini. Even an article I saw this morning about a fellow female reporter trashing Russini featured HER in sexy attire.

Bottom line, peoples personal lives should be their business. The virtue signaling that the NFL and other media outlets engage in is disgusting imho.

Nice to see Ken (Burgundy Burner) on the Bleeding Burgundy Podcast with Bang. Hope you’re doing well!

(Didn’t know Jesse was one of those feather fanatics. 😎)

I have a slightly different take. Dating/sleeping with your clients, bosses, co-workers is generally forbidden or needs to be disclosed in most industries because it can lead to favors and favoratism.

Other reports asking "why is Rossini getting the Patriots info instead of me, oh wait, she's having sex with the head coach." That's bad.

Patriots information leaks that they didn't want to, why? The question has to asked, "was that because the HC is having sex with a reporter?"

I guess I don't disagree with you from a purely theoretical perspective. But you can extrapolate this to many different industries, and rules are in place. Professors can't have relationships with college students. Both are adults at that point. Managers are not supposed to have relationships with team members. Service Provider and Client.

Some companies have a complete ban on it as company policy. Others it's ok if it's disclosed to HR, and follows some procedures.

I get that this is a sticky situation, and both families will be impacted. But there is a professional impact as well.

Service Provider and Client.
That's the oldest profession...

To piggy back on your point, which I wholly agree with, there was someone on X/Twitter that listed all the ways the NFL wants this to go away, and the one that really stood out: potential tampering.

Earlier this offseason Russini was practically campaigning for AJ Brown to go to New England. She also reported that Maxx Crosby really wanted to go there too. Vrabel obviously can't go out there and ask for AJ Brown...but Russini can. Obviously we have no way of actually knowing if they conspired like this, but image is everything. Her credibility is complete shit now.

Boone conflict of interest. This is a cut and dry case.

She’s made quite a career for herself all the while flaunting her goods - never was the issue.

Don’t fuck what you cover. Pretty simple journalistic principle. She’ll do fine at Barstool

Not that it matters, but so is his.

In Keim’s draft history podcast (which was very good) he said Malcolm Jennings like 6 times instead of Malcolm Kelly.

Who I dubbed “the player we do not mention” maybe over a decade ago.

Kyle hits at the end how info-leaks happen about the draft. Just for future reference.
