If it was "only" $2,000.00 per seat we might consider it. Might. The kick in the nuts is the lack of tailgating spots.
That said, if we choose not to renew, we'll buy individual games instead and do a lot more road trips...

It's going to be crazy expensive, so we'll cherry pick a home game, or two and focus on away games to cities that we've never visited..
 
Bottom line very well to do people or corporations are going to be the ones buying most of the tickets. If the team is winning on a regular basis by that time it will be full of our fans. If not, it’s going to be easy for other team’s fans to buy them on the secondary market just like now. Some of the PSLs in the survey were unreal.
 
I want to hear about the actual field. It better be natural grass.

What a bunch of nonsense word salad, lol... I view the new stadium description with a mix of wonderment and other worldly curiousity, as it elicits in me both symmetry, conflict, and resolution in line with the historic rhythms of familial traditions and the classical remnants of posterity.

I like the 'memorial' look and I think it will complement the DC skyline well. And I'm glad they abandoned the idea of building it with 2x4's.

They seem to be skirting the question of whether there will be ample tailgating space - it sounds more like they are discouraging it but it's difficult to interpret the language here.
 
I just wanted to say this new stadium design looks amazing. We needed it for the longest time. The fact that they build a whole architecture around it in terms of businesses and residences makes it a whole look better. Long time coming! I can't wait to go to the old RFK site and see games being played out in new, state of the art stadium. Nostalgia!

ATL is the same...well mostly because it was built for soccer and they want to milk those folks for all they're worth. Very little parking compared to the size of the city. MARTA (our public transit) is the only way to go, and this past season's Skins game was the biggest challenge I've ever run into. Disaster from beginning to end, we ended up having to get an Uber just to get over one station to my truck because the system between those two shut down after the game.

Not cool.

I guess one thing I question... it's both expensive and a PIA to go to an NFL game. One of the biggest attractants (imho) for most people is the opportunity to tailgate. For the past 30 years, most Washington fans probably enjoyed pre-game as much or more as they did the on-the-field product. If they discourage tailgating, I'm not sure how motivated some fans will be to attend many games once the novelty of a new stadium wears off? Of course, there will always be the die-hard locals who want to attend every game. But I think there are a lot of geographically challenged fans who would decide just to watch from the comfort of their living rooms if tailgating is not part of the experience.

I guess I could be way off on this - just how I personally feel.
 
For me…I will travel to a home game once to experience the new stadium. I no longer need to experience the city and I’m a big fan of tv viewing for a plethora of reasons. The biggest being that I’m not a huge fan of humans, especially humans unburdened of social norms by excess alcohol consumption.

I do really enjoy away game visits to places that I love (New Orleans) or places I have never been to. That will be my primary focus into the future. Probably Nashville this upcoming season.
 
I love Nashville! Go to Red Headed Stranger for breakfast. Skulls on writers row for prime rib. All the music on broadway is pretty amazing. Jeff Rubys is overrated.
 
If the object is a home field advantage and reminisces, being an 8 year old being egged on by a bunch of drunks in the shitty RFK end zone cave seats, it was always a big fun time to jump up and down on the metal plates. I highly doubt that a 50 lb little rodent made much difference in the big scheme of things but I damn sure remember that those fat drunk slobs jumping on them made a helluva racket.

Seems a lot simpler and more home field advantage conducive to drop a few old signs along the walkways than engineering a bouncy seat. I also seriously doubt that there are very many people around that actually had that experience. Is dude dropping megabucks on PSLs also bouncy seat guy?

Of course they could also do both 🤷‍♂️

I forget who said it--it might have been JP Finlay or B-Mitch, but the only people who want to see the game played in the snow and mud are the ones sitting at home, watching on TV. I was at one of those upper-30s/low-40s freezing rain misery games; where we got blown out by the Giants. Give me an indoor stadium to go see a game at.
 
Some stadiums are distinct homefield advantages like Seattle and Kansas City. Others like Dallas are simply mass venue tech igloos, with lots of shopping and 'features' that take 30% of the fans out of their seats when the game is being played.
 
Hopefully the noise will be loud enough.

The Commanders will have a new 70,000-plus-seat stadium that will sit on the site of the old RFK Stadium. The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala shared details of the future stadium, which will include a transparent roof that no other professional team in the world has.

“The roof of the Commanders’ new stadium will be ‘anticlastic,’ or shaped like a Pringle,” Jhabvala wrote on Thursday. “So, unlike U.S. Bank Stadium, which has a lattice of steel trestles that support its clear roof but ultimately impede the view, the Commanders’ will have a cable net system to create ‘the most transparent roof that will enclose a large stadium anywhere on the planet,’ according to one person directly involved in the stadium design and planning.”
Jhavbala explained that the building will adopt this roof to make fans feel they are outdoors, as they were in the old RFK Stadium. Having a closed stadium will bring more opportunities to the city. The building can reportedly host 200 events a year, potentially including a Super Bowl.

Additionally, they want to create a loud stadium, similar to what they had with RFK Stadium. The transparent roof will amplify the sound from the crowd back down to the field.

This is the kind of thing I’ve waited years to hear. Seattle’s stadium did something similar with the way they designed the overhangs. This place will be deafening when the fans are fired up.
 
I thought this was interesting. One point was that they wanted to create one of, if not the loudest, stadiums in the NFL. That they have more subwoofers than any other stadium in the country. What? Why? Are they planning to pump in noise?
